The hazardous mine has some interesting ground textures at various spots.

EDIT: Other mines have it as well.

East Coast has pretty substantial pop-in in the residential areas (West Coast has some as well but not NEARLY as close to the player)

EDIT: Noticed some unusual choppy audio while playing on Italy. Can be heard near the end of the video.

EDIT2: Barstow has a sort of "popping" sound if you're giving it some gas around ~1000RPM if a supercharger is installed. Video taken with mods but it occurs without them as well.

I had this issue about a year or two ago, I found out that some of my files had corrupted, making my audio not work properly, and my game slow and susceptible to pop-in, i'd try verify your game files, and do an audio debug (using dev tools) and see if that helps at all, I assume this video was taking without mods installed, but if you did have any mods installed at the time, try it in safe mode, and repeat whatever you were doing (to the best you can) and see what happens.

Yep, did it all. Videos were taken in safe mode (minus the sound ones, but those were able to be replicated in SM) and game verification shows everything to be minty clean.

Should also add the funky audio I had on Italy can happen on other maps as well, but it's a lot rarer.

Check your audio drivers, especially if you are using a gaming headset, they might be outdated.

Actually, if the video is picking up the sound - it can't be your headphones, maybe check the ingame files via the command console?

For your pop-in issue, it seems that the textures are actually unloading, (on the houses at least) which seems really odd, I think there is something wrong with either your copy of the game, or some sort of driver, try updating everything you can, and also if you are using an Nvidia GPU, a new driver was released earlier today, see if updating that helps.

Check out this thread as well to verify your game again.

The pop-in/audio issues occur on a PC with a 7950 (latest drivers and fresh copy of the game, since I did it just to see what'd happen), and the pop-in happens on a friend's PC with a 780 (I'm on the newest WHQL driver and he's on one that's ~6 releases old).

That's odd if it is a widespread issue, I don't notice it myself, can you give a detailed spec of your pc if possible? (The one with the 7950)

The test rig is nothing special since it's just a glorified file/Plex server now that it isn't my daily (normally without the 7950), so it's a G3258 @ 4.6GHz, 6GB of random RAM I had laying about after stealing the RAM for my current machine, a 120GB boot SSD, the 7950 (duh), and W10 Pro x64.

I think the pop-in issue is possibly caused by the CPU, as the G3258 is only a dual-core, and even my quad core i5-7400 sometimes struggles with beamng, so I believe that could be bottlenecking with the game, causing slow texture load in, try kicking the performance up a bit in task manager by setting priorities to high for beam.exe’s and beamUI files, but your audio issue is still a mystery.

*Edit* also 6 GB of ram is a struggle for beam, as my system used to have 8GB DDR4until I bought another stick of 8GB for it (16GB now that runs much better) so maybe see if adding more ram eliminates the pop-in issue?

If you look at the top video that was posted, the textures are failing to load until within a close range of the player’s camera location, which isn’t meant to happen.

The smaller houses have a very short LOD bias, to the point where they only pop in to their higher-detail versions about 3-4 carlengths ahead of you. For whatever reason though it's only those smaller ones like what are used on East Coast. The larger houses have a much better LOD that brings them in at a much more reasonable time.

That first point would be great if not for the fact that it happens on my main system with a 3770/16GB of RAM lol

Like I said, the G3258/7950 was just thrown together to see if I still had the same problems on a brand new game install, as normally it lives without the GPU just slaving away in a closet doing Plex/file server duties.

At least none of these issues are game-breaking. The worst one of the bunch is the audio funk (since I tend to play at louder volume with a headset on, making it much more obvious) which is just bizarre.

That being said, the LOD issues seem to have been fixed with the .1 patch, and now smaller houses load in much more reasonably.

EDIT: Seems as though the audio funk from AI like what I experienced on Italy is fixed. Might be too early to say but it hasn't happened yet.
