I may be eyeballing this because I don't have the newest beta, but watching Gameboy's video I noticed every time the wheel came off the spindle came off with it, my guess is it has something to do with the steering being redone, as I'm running the last beta that was distributed in the beta program before its closure and don't have that issue, I do lose wheels but that's usually from me trying to keep a steady, fast pace on a map with a couple sharp angles, (MegaFSofDoom isn't a good map if you want smooth ramps but I love the layout so I run it anyway) and I only lose wheels on those transitions or from landing sideways/crashing which is all reasonable to me, may have been resolved by now but I'll leave this here anyway
I'm looking into it, something is triggering the breakGroup for the knuckle - as you noticed, it stays attached to the wheel, so it's the knuckle itself failing. Could be caused by the reworked geometry - steering axis is now right on the ball joint, so knuckle attachments are a little more exposed - , by some oversight in the grouping logic... or worse, a mix of various factors.
I need help with adding skin packs to beamNG drive i alreday have the base mod and the addon pack working i just dont know where the skins go
Ok, new steering was thoroughly reworked and it's apparently fixed now... Yet, 0.18 game update broke all materials in a single sweep. Yay me...
Status update: materials are slowly getting fixed (many thanks to @synsol for the help). Not perfect yet, but it's a start...
Guns N' Roses intensifies, also turning dynamic reflection on seems makes it look decent enough to me for now so there's that at least
It looks ok on dark levels with multiple, artificial light sources, like most arenas and dedicated maps. It looks awfully glossy - see previous pic - on most levels with natural light, like official maps.
Sees that this now says outdated Me: Huh wonder if Beam got an update Checks steam Me: yep winter update is here, now i wonder what broke on the truck
The lighting changes screwed up the materials. This post should explain why. So basically we have to go through around 1200 materials and fix them all. Yeah it hurts but we will get through it.
When you look at the CRD and see its been put as "Outdated": "This my boys, this is want we don't want to see."
i can deal with the bodies being extra shiny for a bit, it just makes it feel like it rolled fresh off the assembly line with not a spec of dirt or scratches at all......only for us to destroy it seconds later lol
This should help you tune your materials: https://www.beamng.com/threads/0-18s-lighting-knowledge-base.67042/ In short, you more likely need to check the alpha of the colormap, in order to compensate the fixed dynamic reflections which are now brighter. Also the specular settings, which was previously completely broken, but now fixed and rightfully visible.
