Updated and added years because yes (the estimation is now accurate, the estimation for 0.18 was 1 month too early because I can't even do some basics additions)
Planes as something to fly will never be in the game officially, but, a small plane as a prop sounds reasonable, unlikely, but reasonable.. Knowing the devs they do surprise and as low as the chances are, it's a possibility
[QUOTE="ktheminecraftfan, post: 1097896, member: 52567"Talking about Maps, What about random badly mangled automotive wrecks? maybe as clever Easter Eggs.[/QUOTE] Yeah it would be neat to find a white Challenger lookalike (from Vanishing Point) mangled up somewhere in Utah.

Sorry to ask if that was said, but at the end the career mode will be soon?, I read that it will be in 2019. Anyone knows something about it?. Thanks.
You could have it somewhere closer to the shore line. I quickly (It's quite messy and I didn't save it) flattened a hill down where a small Island worker settlement could fit.
Easter eggs would be fun to find. Imagine driving around JRI and suddenly find a mangled up Zero or Corsair.
That would really be something … A plane wreck, hidden deep in the jungle and underneath the tree canopy so that it can't be easily spotted by players using free camera to fly around. Just up some barely-noticeable offshoot of a deep jungle trail for some lucky offroad player to find... But I'm thinking of something bigger like a Douglas DC-3 or a C-47. Maybe not quite fully intact, but mostly so and very overgrown with vines and moss. For an idea of the mood I'm looking for, check out this painting by Jonathan Wateridge: https://www.saatchigallery.com/artists/artpages/jonathan_wateridge_jungle.htm
The thing about easter eggs like that is that the average player won't see them on a regular basis. With a game like this, you need to be as conservative with resources as possible to maintain good framerates. So putting a plane covered in foliage hidden in the middle of a forest or something, while interesting, isn't very efficient.
If the average player isn't seeing them on a regular basis then it wouldn't be an issue for performance, seems as they wont be rendered.
That would be neat to have, I was thinking as an alternative is to have a couple long abandoned marine amphtrac's on a beach suggesting a beach landing at some point in the islands history.
They wouldn't be rendered if they had a very steep LOD curve, or if there were some more rigorous occlusion going on with the terrain and forest. Otherwise, they would contribute to the polygon count and draw calls. That said, with some smart material recycling and vertex paint, you could create a good-looking airplane wreck or two without needing any extra materials/textures, making easter eggs like that much more viable.
The D-Series remastering has multiple phases. We don't know how many there will be, which updates they'll come out with, or if they include the van and Roamer as well.
Not necessarily phases, although it's likely that the offroad Hopper will be released in a 0.18 'mini-update', and likely the second phase of the D-Series overhaul.
About the hopper, Someone said it might have a v8: you might be correct, as for a slight bit of evidence i found.
Ferrettank already stated on Instagram or reddit (or maybe somewhere else) that it will have a V8. Don't remember where I saw it, but I'll post the evidence if I find it EDIT: Can't find the quote, not sure if I imagined it, although it's obvious its going to be a V8 anyway
I came across this. 'Maybeeee in the future' doesn't necessarily mean no (Although I wouldn't get my hopes up) (Talking about the RockHopper)
please bring this in-game. it would help out us Keyboard and Gamepad users https://beamng.com/threads/micro-blog-s-2018-2019.51722/#post-1097257
