Hello everyone, I am aware that this topic is pretty old but I fell madly in love with this mod and I couldn't figure out a better place to post my request. First of all this mod is simply great and is works just fine on the "technical" part. I mean that Herbie drives fine, his behaviour is working too I just have small issues with the swimming but nothing important. However I have a texture problem and I don't know how to correct it, I tried downloading the mod 2 times and nothing changed. The chrome textures are black, the interior is completely white and the headlights don't show up. (I don't have any other mod in my game) I read someone on the forum had globally the same problem but I couldn't find a post with a solution. Can someone help me ?
That's not how it works. You need an older version of the game, not the mod. If you're really dedicated to using this mod, in the game's Steam preferences there is an option to download version 0.16.3 instead, in which the mod will work properly. You'll want to make a separate user folder so it doesn't affect your other mods, though.
I doubt getting an older version of the mod would be any better. On Steam, you can opt into either beta 0.4.0.6 or 0.14.0.5, but the only version of the mod available is the most recent version, which is a 0.15 hotfix. Unless the creator decides to upload the mod, there's nothing you can really do. Actually, SuperAusten64 explained it better.
As I just said, there is an option for 0.16.3 (it's listed as "igpu_crash_workaround" because it's for people who have iGPUs for which versions 0.17 and onward crash), and I've fully tested this mod in that version. Everything works, including the textures.

Oh ok, i thought 0.18 was the mods version not the game one, my bad. I am really dedicated to using this mod (childhood things etc...) and I don't have any other mod so everything's fine. However I don't see where i can downgrade the game, looked in the settings but didn't see anything, plus my overlay is in french so it might not be exactly the same names. Where can I do that ? edit: found it it was located in beta options sorry about that --- Post updated --- I loaded the beta version and reinstalled the mod but still the textures are weird, I think the headlights are back though. Any idea ?
It looks like your graphics settings are set to "Lowest." Try setting them to "Low" or higher (if you can) and tell me what happens.
Ok, so it appears i am a colossal idiot, you were right it was a graphic settings problem ! He looks better now ! even though I won't be able to play in high settings, i'm glad that it works fine. Thank you all for your help !! Edit: the problem came from the lighting quality that was too low
Yes it works !! it was the lighting parameter that was too low. It only works on previous versions of the game though, i tried downloading the recent version and even in high quality the textures are weird. Thank you very much for your help ! note: My previous message is awaiting moderator approval so I sent a separate one to thank you both and tell you that it works.
Do you have a non google drive version? one with a folder i can just drag and drop into my direct files? i dont have anything on google drive set up so i would like to just drag and drop the folder, but you physically cant on google drive.
You don't need a Google account, just click the link, click the "download" button on the Google Drive page and then drop the zip file into your mods folder.
I may be looking in the wrong place but is the mod dead for 0.18 because it will not even appear in game
