I came across this. 'Maybeeee in the future' doesn't necessarily mean no (Although I wouldn't get my hopes up) (Talking about the RockHopper)
please bring this in-game. it would help out us Keyboard and Gamepad users https://beamng.com/threads/micro-blog-s-2018-2019.51722/#post-1097257
It's a little late to report on this, but I find it interesting that they called the latest update a "minor update" instead of a "hotfix" as they usually do for very small updates like these. In the past, a minor update (think remastered Grand Marshal) was a second-decimal-place update (0.17.1) and a hotfix (think basic bug fixes) was a third-decimal-place update (0.17.0.1). Now that they've said they're going to drop the use of the third decimal place, I wonder if they'll drop the "hotfix" designation as well. Also, it's no longer relevant, and it may have already been mentioned, but I literally just realized that the preview image of the new launcher from the fourth hotfix of 0.17 lists the version as 0.18.
Yeah, originally hotfixes included fixes to urgent game-breaking issues (e.g. widespread game crashes). Over time we got better at avoiding that kind of issues, and started including fixes for less important issues too. And eventually we have been including even some new features and content (rather than fixes only). So the old name wasn't reflecting the reality of the updates' content anymore. On top of that, some people (including us) might confuse e.g. 0.17.1 vs 0.17.0.1. Some people even thought we were faking new updates, re-announcing the same update twice (for extra publicity, I suppose?), so dropping the 4th digit makes things simpler for everyone
I have an idea for what the next car might be like. Judging by the two R's that make up the logo, one being a 180deg rotation of the other, I would guess that the next car is going to have a rotary engine!
That's possible, but I personally doubt it considering the car looks fairly new (to me) and the last rotary-engined car to be made by a major manufacturer (that I know of) was the 2012 Mazda RX-8.
welp. the unfinished tow truck bed for the D-series is gone. could that mean that it was scrapped due to issues with the rope physics that the devs said that they were working on?
We improved our release process and figured we might as well remove this leaked mesh as it serves no purpose for our users. It's not been scrapped yet, but since we don't have any support for rope like things we can't use it.
Honestly, a telephone pole like this except with a wood pole would be great for a Jungle Rock Island update in my opinion. By the way, this pole in the shot above is on Automation Test Track. I am aware that the map that has the telephone pole in the shot above was part of the BeamNG and Automation collaboration update. Now, I could be wrong, but most of that map looks it was made by the BeamNG staff members including B25Mitch. Anyways, I think a telephone pole that looks exactly like that shot of the telephone pole above except with a wood pole would be a great add-on to a Jungle Rock Island update in my opinion. I would like the Automation test track pole models a bit more if they had wood poles, but the pole models on Automation Test Track still look really good in my opinion.
If I had a say in that, I would vote for either the LeGran or the Bolide, though the latter would probably be my final choice.
Not much that can be done with the pigeon, in my opinion. In real life, it would also probably be one of the lowest quality cars.
