You can still customize modern cars rather nicely. Also some old cars are rather ugly as well.

Well, Ferrari make FF which is a little oversized hot hatch. But anyway, becasue IRL carmakers didn't make that kind of car, doesn't mean Beam makers can't do it either.

You know, you could take the time out of your oh-so-precious day to make a classic car and release it to the community yourself.
    Or...
You could do everyone on this forum a favor and politely be quiet.
    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ your choice.

That’s absolutely not true. Variety in cars is the same if not greater than it ever was. As with customisation potential, it’s just more difficult to customise modern cars

This is where I post a pic of 28 similar looking 2020 model year crossovers.

As for how pretty they are, we all know classic cars are across the board more beautiful:

Yeah, but ThEy ArE EfFiCiEnT and DoN't HaVe a sIx LiTer v8, so automatically modern cars are garbage... I never really get the urge to say "OK boomer" until someone starts dumping on modern cars "because they're cheap" or "too bland"

I don't think an old truck would suit a modern wealthy Californian city.

A more suitable thing would be something like a Tesla or modern Prius, maybe some high-end Euro car or 00s Japanese compact/midsizer.

And if we're going the commercial route, then something like the modern Ford vans (any of them), or maybe a modern small Japanese cabover truck.

You say that all modern cars look the same, except you refuse to realize that cars have always looked similar. You'd be lying to say that out of all of the obese, high displacement, low output american sedans from the 70's and 80's none looked similar. It's just not true. No matter the decade, the cars/ trucks all follow an established design cue because that's what the market wants at the time.

More than likely, yeah. I'm thinking of a turbo 1.6T 4cyl, or a turbo 2.0l 4 banger, like in the new Veloster N - turbo 2.0l 275hp. I don't think it'd have a v6 in it or something because it probably would be worse on gas, not as practical for many buyers who don't want to spend a lot on gas.

Whatever happened to the simple excitement of a new car being announced in general, regardless of what it is?

The year selector goes to 2020 because the eSBR is a 2020 model.

Well someone seems triggered just because I pointed out that crossovers all look similar. Never thought that "crossovers look similar and there's a ton of them" could start an argument, but I guess anything can around here...

Yes, there have always always common design cues, but how can anyone look at the mass amount of crossovers that all look the same and say "this is the same or greater variety than even 10 years ago"?.. This isn't even limited to within specific countries anymore, it's across the board. It seems every comany has 1 or 2 cars that look identical to something made by an unrelated company.

Save the old car vs. new car debate for the General Car Discussion thread (where Shotgun Chuck and his anti-EV rhetoric are waiting with open arms) and let's talk about this new car.

To me it's pointless to take wild guesses as to what real-world car this new vehicle resembles most, as it's all subjective and the car, like every other car in game, does not borrow its styling from any one real car.
As for the hatchback vs. compact crossover debate, I'm going to throw my chip in and say that due to the proportions, large wheels/small tires, and lack of visible black plastic body cladding, it looks the most to me like a regular hatchback.

Back in the old days, the variety was often even lower. For example, virtually every manufacturer had their take on the "angular notchback sedan with a slanted C-pillar" style in the 70s.

I'm not triggered, simply annoyed. There isn't any way to prove this, as anyone could find numerous cars that look very similar from any decade. Having an opinion on what era of cars you prefer is completely fine, but generalizing all modern cars by saying they look identical is false. I can find 2 modern crossovers that look extremely different from each other, and 2 80's sedans that look almost identical. there's no facts to go on.

EDIT: I'm getting back OT now, if you really want to have a battle of opinion, message me so we don't flood this thread even more.

I like what I see. I'm still wondering what country it's going to be from. Considering that it's either a crossover SUV or a five door hatchback, I have zero idea of where it could potentially be from.

Oh, boo frickin hoo, cry me a river.

And no, BeamNG has had very little focus on modern cars. This will be the first modern vehicle since the Hirochis and the ETK 800 and K Series.
