    It's a hatchback.
Whatever happened to people being grateful for what they've been given.
    Sorry to go boomer mode.

If they would have gone for one of these, it would be the MG. But i think it's really cool to get a crossover into the game. also, have any of you noticed how the BeamNG car designers are better than real car designers?

Alright people, I am looking forward to this new modern car made by the devs, but then again. The BeamNG devs are so awesome that they can make almost any kind of car fun to drive. I do enjoy driving the ETK 800 series in BeamNG Drive, but I don't care that much for modern car bodies. I personally prefer older car bodies to modern car bodies.

Now look, I can totally get the appeal of modern cars. They are safer and have more technology which is really useful for our current tech world that we live in, but I don't think modern car bodies look as appealing as older car bodies. I personally think that the late 50s and early 60s pickup truck bodies look much more appealing then the 2010s pickup truck bodies, but that's my personal opinion. I don't think modern cars in general are bad, I just don't care that much for their body style.

Anyways, I'm going to respond to some posts on here.

That's your opinion and I'm totally fine with it. I personally think that West Coast USA reminds me of an old truck, but maybe that's just because of the map aging.

    Can you please provide examples?

I totally agree with that statement. I definitely think classic cars have more beautiful body styles.

Honestly, I think BeamNG.drive should have a variety of cars both old and new to keep players interested in the game.
I think some modern cars have good colors, but I don't care for the plastic and I don't care for the body style. I can totally get the appeal of them though. Not sure about the customization thing. You may or may not be correct.

Boy, you sure do bring that user quite often. Anyways, you make an okay point about the car stuff.

You might be correct about the variety stuff, but I do think that cars back then looked better then the new cars. That's just my personal opinion though.

I do think the modern cars look like that they have more variety then the older cars do. I think the old 80s sedans look prettier then the new cars do, but you make a good point about the variety stuff. I totally agree with you on that.

I'm not sure what happened to be honest with you.

Anyways, I think old cars look better then new cars do, but that's just my opinion. New cars are definitely safer then older cars are. That's the end of my post for now.

If you agree or disagree with this post, feel free to explain why?

I'm honestly glad we are getting a carnew modern as the modern car selection is quite lacking. The only other "affordable" and "common" modern car is the sunburst. It will also make modern traffic simulation a lot better.

I honestly didn't know what those things sticking out of the bonnet were, i had just noticed them and gone hm, engine stuff, but when i see it from that angle i realise it's part of the suspension. That is proper badass-looking.

It doesn't help that anytime anyone has anything other than praise they get jumped. Yes it is odd to be wanting a sedan version of this car, but I wouldn't call it ungrateful to want an alternate body style.

I wasn't necessarily replying to him as much as I was replying to everyone, I forgot to put a line in between because enormous brain.
I was kind of more commenting on @Nathan24™ being a whiny little snot because his favowite caw wasn't added into the game.

Night lighting may be on the horizon (they gave it to Utah), but I don't see interiors happening until some serious optimizations happen.

    ----edit----

I'll probably regret chiming in on this: I also think that classics have far more variety than modern cars. But there's a bias there: 'modern' only covers the last 10 or so years of automotive history and speculates on the next 2-3, offering at most two or three generations of each model. 'Classic' cars cover a span of ~50 years if we're being generous, and that includes several full model lines, and even now-defunct brands or styles. The fairer statement would be to choose a 5-10 year span you believe had a better variety than our current 5-10 year span, and make your case there (it would still be opinion vs opinion, but it would be fairer).

Nate is the only one I've seen here be ungrateful. Yes it is odd that he is so hostile towards this, but he is the exception. Now compare that to the number of comments being made in the past 2 pages saying how ungrateful people are and acting like there's no excitement for the new car when we made like 10 pages of posts in the 8 hours since the teaser, almost all of which was on the new car until the most recent 2 or so.

Then there was the eSBR where one person got admittedly a little too enthusiastic in pointing out that the car has more "near future" battery tech than "2019 production" tech and that turned the entire thread into a disaster.

Then there was the Autobello where some people gave constructive criticism and half the forum gets triggered claiming that people who just want the game to improve are actually the least grateful in the community compared to those who don't care about the details.

Then there's the fact that even a factual observation of car design or culture will get half the forum to assume you hate everything made after 1985.

The "lets say everyone else is ungrateful and a 'boomer" culture on this forum is really getting on my nerves.

Just going to chime in here to say that the interraction between the two r's of the new logo reminded me of the herringbone gear origin of Citroen's logo.

Just in case that was a conscious decision, and if the new car also turns out to be french then I want the developer responsible to feel validated for their effort here.

The Autobello had details that made it not actually street legal historically. Multiple issues, but the blinkers is what everyone remembers. Some people wanted their 1950's Italian car in this realistic game to be, well, historically accurate. Part of simulating cars is the laws that made those cars how they were. Other's saw them as pedantic and ungrateful and a multi-month long fight ensued.

They were minor issues which should not take 3 months to fix. Italy was delayed and they probably held off on the Piccobello to release them together.
