"Thanks. Same to you with the shop! (Hopefully this didn't wreck anything you had in mind for RP) But I really do appreciate it, and I'll be back to visit early this Spring."
And with that I loaded up the new truck and trailer with my Hopper and D25. I parked the Barstow next to the trailer for a quick photo, but sadly I'll be leaving it in Utah for a little while. I got a transport truck to take the Barstow back to Maine, but they aren't picking it up for another week so I'm leaving it in storage in Utah until then.

It was bittersweet leaving the shop for good, I'll definitely miss hanging out with @Tuner from America and @Denis15 . At the same time though, I couldn't be more excited to see all my old high school friends and my family again. After saying my good-byes, I embarked on my lonely 2,500 mile road trip in my cramped D-series.

Tonight was a wild ride. I made just over the border into Colorado, into the more mountainous desert-like region of the state, and the D-series was struggling bad. The stock 6.0L was not happy climbing the big grades with a 2-car gooseneck in tow. I was getting pretty tired around 12:30 AM, with full intentions of driving through the night. The truck, however, had other plans and out of nowhere the engine seized up, locking up the ass-end of the truck and jack-knifing the trailer into the cab. It was one of the scariest things I've experienced to-date, happening incredibly quickly, and seeing the front end of my Hopper through my driver's side window.
    screenshot_2020-01-15_23-30-29.png screenshot_2020-01-15_23-30-40.png screenshot_2020-01-15_23-30-49.png screenshot_2020-01-15_23-31-08.png
The truck was clearly totaled, as the frame was brutally twisted between the cab and bed, and the cab itself was crumpled. The trailer, Hopper, and D25 crawler appeared nearly untouched thankfully. I called out a tow truck for both the D-series and trailer. They took the truck wherever the hell it needed to go for insurance and I had them take me and the loaded trailer to a hotel a few miles off the highway.

Tomorrow morning I'll have to look at renting a truck to pull the trailer, but as for tonight, I'm going right to bed, still amazed that I survived that without a scratch. Lucky, I thought.

I got some plates on my 800-Series and headed out to Firwood cafe as the sun went down.

I decided to welcome myself back to Firwood, with their cafe's signature hot chocolate. As I pulled up, I misjudged my distance and nearly rear-ended a brand-new looking ETK.

Hastily, I backed up, trying to avoid embarrassment more than anything, before heading inside.

Just realised I forgot to introduce my car - it's a 2013 ETK 854t in jet black.

Work starts pretty early tomorrow, so I probably shouldn’t stay up much longer. My 800-series is so much better than my Pessima, and 5 times the price. I think going used was the right route. Yes, it’s not brand new, but being made in 2017 and not the current generation got it for way cheaper than it was worth, and it’s just as good as a new car. I’m glad my house is far off the road, makes it nearly impossible for anyone to hit my car. I’ll miss that if I have to move to Belasco.

I’m wondering if it’s going to snow here, (Hopefully we get a snow ECU soon) as I’m not sure I want to use my ETK in it. One one hand, it has AWD and isn’t brand new, but on the other hand it is pretty sporty and has sporty tires, so it probably doesn’t handle snow and ice too well. I don’t think I’m going to coddle the car, another good reason to get it used, so I think it’ll be fine. Worst case scenario I can go out and get tire chains or even snow tires. I want the car to be a daily driver, but also kept in good condition.

I'm going to buy a tow hitch for my ETK. I'll be able to tow things then. I'm concerned for snow - my tires aren't sporty, but the car is RWD, which is worrying. It'll be cool if it does snow, but I'll have to be extra careful.

After a long drive i finally reach firwood, its late, and there aint much light. I park my etk and enter the cafe. I order a hot chocolate, and after i got it i accidentally spilled some on my pants. I drink the rest, and just sit in the cafe. I later go home, load off the burnside and park the trailer. I see the old bluebuck standing in the forest, right where i left it. I wonder when a new rally will start, and if that doesnt happen soon, i may repair it as a project car. Anyway i go to bed, and enjoy a good nights rest.

I get off soon. My coworkers seem a bit angry that the new guy got promoted but I had the best performance. I’m kind of nervous about my car being out in the open, but I just have to hope.

This morning, I checked out of the Inn that I stayed at last night. I decided to take a closer look at the goose neck trailer and the vehicles on it, since it was now daylight and I'd be able to get a better look at everything.
    screenshot_2020-01-15_23-42-14.png
The Hopper and D25 appear fine, the Hopper only suffered some scrapes on the front bumper when it bounced off of the goose neck due to the impact. Upon further inspection of the trailer, however, it appears to be quite tweaked, especially the neck of it. It should be fine behind the dually that I rented to take it back to Maine. I hitched up the rental truck and stopped for a quick breakfast before continuing on my trip back home.
    screenshot_2020-01-15_23-45-48.png

By the time that I made it to the Garfield Heights area, I'd ran into a pretty big snow storm. I stopped for some fuel and snacks, then took off into the blizzard.

Around the 3 AM mark, I rolled into the small town of Firwood, Maine. I headed straight to he Firwood Inn, where I got a room for the remaining hours of the night. It felt good to be back, but it felt even better to finally rest, at this point in time.

This morning, I started yet another new chapter of my life. I got a job at my friend's grandpa's sawmill (story is that his grandpa passed away recently and the sawmill was in the will to my friend, who decided to keep it in business by hiring a bunch of our mutual friends). I didn't even have to apply and I had the job. This sawmill was extremely successful under his grandfather's ownership and has continued to be so far under his own.

I returned the rental truck, parked the trailer at my new place of employment, and drove my Hopper and D25 over to my parents' house in which I will be staying until I purchase my own place. My friends showed me this house for sale, which I'm strongly considering due to it's cheap price, although it needs a good bit of work.
    screenshot_2020-01-18_00-49-04.png
Thankfully, the weather has been warm enough to keep snow out of the forecast for the time being so I'm able to drive my Hopper or D25, but I've already been looking online for a cheap winter beater for sale.

After work I decided to go to a bar and that’s where I am now. If anyone wants to join me it’s the really popular one in Firwood. I’ve probably been drinking too much but I really don’t care and the ETK has enough drivers assists to balance it out.

After cutting off a number of cars and possibly causing a few accidents, I’ve made it home and have tumbled onto my couch.

Despite waking up late with a massive headache I somehow managed to make it to work on time. I guess I’m going to take it easy today. Luckily for me I didn’t crash my car heading home yesterday.
