Diamondback will Update the engine thermal Code. So it will work for now again. I am changing the 3d Model and jbeam, but only when I have time. In reality I am working on it all the time. Often I just don’t like the results and don’t publish.
Oh yesss! I am very glad to hear that because I thought you have abandoned it. Best aircraft in BeamNG.
I am aware that I am "bumping" the thread and that you are busy with real life, however, @Joelvb the mod has issues with the the piston bearings failing after about 30 seconds of spawning the other issue is that the custom engine sounds don't work, the idle sounds are working and so are the sounds for the broken engines, if you happen to get some free time would you mind trying to fix these?
Right? I've been having the same problem, I mean, it's awesome that it CAN have a piston failure and the plane can detonate it's engines like an old Rover but I'd still like to fly it first
I am actually fine when it comes to problems so it might be some weird thing that only happens to some people.
Hey guys, I have a quick workaround / fix for the B25 to address the engine damage problem. The piston rings get damaged because the cylinder walls are damaged due to quick overheating. To fix this you have to modify the B25Mitchell_engineL.jbeam and B25Mitchell_engineR.jbeam files in your B25.zip vehicle file. Just open these files with notepad and add the following lines in the cooling and oil system section (as shown in the image): Code: "radiatorArea":10000 "radiatorEffectiveness":200000 "coolantVolume":500 Of course these values are kinda ridiculous and nowhere near a realistic cooling system behaviour. But it will keep things really cool and avoid any damage to the cylinder walls. Feel free to play around with the values and enjoy flying
That has fixed the issue, thanks. But now that I got it in the air, I have discovered....... that it flies like absolute crap, so I think it needs a whole redo
The plane flies rather well, however, it takes a bit to of practice to get used to flying it. thanks for the fix @Waschbaer
Well, I think it's a pretty realistic representation of the real aircraft. However if you want more fun flying it, I'd suggest beefing up the engines a little bit for more power To do that, edit the torque table in the engine files and increase the torque value at 2000 rpm. For instance: Code: "torque": [ ["rpm", "torque"] [0, 2000], [500, 5000], [2000, 9000], [2500, 5500], [3000, 500], [3500, 0], ],
Joelvb updated B25 Mitchell with a new update entry: New Aircooled engines Read the rest of this update entry...
Yes, it is a problem from the engine. At high speeds water can cause instabilities. That is why it breaks
Thank you very much for the update Joelvb! May I ask for an armament update next time? (Front guns and some other bomb loads) Also a flying controls update as they don´t work or are very innefective after some extreme maneuvers (stall recoveries among others) Best regards.
Thank you, the changes to armament is one of the things that are on my mind. At the moment I am working on the nacelle, wing and landing gear. I have the blueprints of the aircraft, from the structure to the bolts. So it will be a lot more accurate, but it takes a lot of time. the jbeam will be and to some point is changed, but was not included in this update as it was not ready and wouldn‘t be good in my mind. The aerodynamics will be also changed with the new jbeam, I will try some new approches, don’t expect it coming tho. It will be just a experiment for me. I have dozens of Versions of the plane that Never Went puplic. Kind regards Joel von B.
