The first of the DLC packs released today … priced about a third of what I'd anticipated. I might pick this one up after I complete the base game.

I always thought the AI don't use reward vehicles (Boomer RS, Killer B S, Rammer RS, Roadslayer GT, Limo, Venom), but I noticed an AI using the Limo in the World Masters Demo Derby. Huh. Hopefully they will be able to use the DLC cars soon, the lack of vehicle model variety in the AI feels really weird.

Also, last month JannesBB stated on a steam forum thread (https://steamcommunity.com/app/228380/discussions/0/2692512878726338543/) another update is coming which will enable the steam achivements.

Another DLC pack was released yesterday:

That wraps up the three known DLC packs, with five more to go. I haven't heard any news on the schedule, nor whether incoming packs will consist solely of vehicles or other content. I wouldn't be surprised to see one that contains only extra paint jobs for existing vehicles.

As an aside, does anyone know how to use photo mode in Wreckfest? I can't get it off of the default driving positions.

Wreckfest Fall update came out. 2 new tracks, steam achievements work now (rocketeer is the only one which will not be grandfathered), and a third damage mode (realistic with the attackers advantage).

Interesting that tracks would show up in an update - I had been guessing that at least one DLC would be composed of tracks, but this makes me think that isn't going to be the case.

Next DLC released 2 days ago. "Steel & Wheels" pack. $1.99 if you don't have the season pass. Mad max style armor upgrades, lots of wheels wheels (the new ones give you a boost to strength and a hit to cornering and acceleration, even the ones that look like racing wheels. So that sucks. Can't use them on a speed build even though some of them look appropriate for it), 3 exhausts, and 1 spoiler. From my 5 seconds of playing with it, parts are available on DLC cars as well (good, my big complaint with the DLC cars is the mediocre customization options) and the armor has equal stats to the strongest base game armor (sometimes one is slightly better in some ways and slightly worse in some, other times it's exactly equal. Weird).

Holiday update (2 more tracks, one of which the AI cannot get around and there's a broken checkpoint) and an... interesting... car pack with 5 cars.

    Concerning the car pack:
3 of them have performance upgrades only and 2 have no upgrades. And all 3 of those are based on base game cars...

Kinda annoyed that Wreckfest got a tubbed car before Beam. And still Wreckfest DLC has not introduced any realistic demo derby stuff like trailer races, flagpole races, cars that IRL are actually used in derbies, etc...

And incredibly, still no AI presets for DLC cars, which means none of them are particularly usable in single player.

Finally some new cars that are not special event cars.

Edit: Now that I've played with it a bit. The 222d has fair customization parts, the Javelin and Vandura are pretty good.

Toyota 222d: Drives as you would expect. Stronger than I expected. It's no derby car, but it can take a hit or two and stay in the race.

Javelin: Fully upgraded with only a roll cage for armor; it's a well balanced race car. Possbly my new favorite for normal races. A jack of all trades I guess. Not too fast, but fast enough. Not too strong, but strong enough for normal racing. Not agile, but predictable and forgiving while still fun. Any gearing shorter than "standard" is just too short to be usable IMO.

    Vandura: This one confuses me.

Fully upgraded it's a 7.9 strength, 252pi. Without armor it's in the mid 5's strenth but 313pi. 313... In a van. Like the Javelin, it's gearing is rather short for me.

Obviously, this thing can dish out punishment. Opponents hit points will melt at a hit from this. But it does not take hits well. It's so large that it's an easy target, and so top heavy that it likes to roll. Violently. This also means that it's not a good race truck even at 313pi and terrifyingly quick downhill. But the suspension is the worst part. At high speeds it will occasionally just violently swing to one side like it is getting caught on the track. The rear suspension likes to get squished together, worsening the high COG massively. And the front suspension... This thing absolutely sheds front wheels, which is a total game ender in anything other than death match.

Just out of curiosity, are you using the season pass? I'm trying to figure out if it's permanent, or if it's something that cease to be usable once the 'season' is over.

Yes. I've never understood the term "season" pass myself. It's just a DLC bundle with a discount.

AFAIK, Season passes came from something other than video games. the name kind of stuck even though they don't go away after the 'Season'

Ski lifts or sports tickets, I think.

I have heard that some games supposedly remove content or make DLC content part of the base game once the 'season' ends - Has THQ Nordic any history of either?

It's highly unlikely they'd get rid of something that you've already paid for. Almost as unlikely as ever getting to see last team standing derby as a stock mode, or first to the finish line team races.

That being said, I wouldn't mind if they took things like the bugzilla, the big rig, pretty much all those clown cars away.

Bugbear had nerfed the 222d(and other 6-speed transmission vehicles) by double the shift delay.
