Discussion about users asking about the download/release date for mods

If I ever release a mod, it'll be announced when I'm ready to put something up for download. I don't like it when I get a sense of false hope for a mod ever releasing just to have it be abandoned, so I won't do that to someone else. So yes, I agree with that point.

Tbh, i hate theese people because they bump old threads and i hope the mod is revived but it is not and some random guy just bumped it

Some people forget that these are free mods for a videogame, no one is being paid to make them (well not that I know of) and the mod creator gives up their own free time and headspace to make them. Things in life change, motivation changes, family situations change. At the end of the day, if the mod doesn't come out, yes you might be dissapointed but really its just something you mess with on a computer that displays some pixels to your eyeballs. I've never really understood how people are so excited and obsessed with new mods, personally I enjoy when new high-quality mods (and game updates) come out but it doesn't result in me begging for progress pics. Just let the mod creators post updates when they feel like it, and go improve your life and be happy instead

 

It's because their uncle's stepdad's best friend's cousin's brother's mom's boyfriend's uncle's grandson's nephew's first cousin once removed's dad's brother has that exact car and they neeeeeeeeeeeeed it.

 

The main thing that adds fire to the excitement is definitely the thought that a car you like/love might be added to the game, because you can't drive it in real life for various reasons, like health issues, rarity of the car, the price tag etc. For me, the health aspect & price tag of my dream car prohibit me from getting one even though I could sell everything I own for it, yet here I am, making one for the game just to enjoy it virtually as that's more accessible

I dislike when there are multiple little kids asking “where is the download” 2-3 times every page, also bumping a thread that is over 2 years old and is probably abandoned with the creator also not seen since a long time ago is pretty silly imo

I totally agree with that statement.

Exactly, little kids asking "wHeRe iS tHe mOd doWnlOad?" and "wHen wiLL tHe mOD bE rEleased?" is extremely annoying and aggravating.

 

My Civetta mod will probably come out mid-summer(ish). I will start to work on it ASAP.

 

Okay, but please don't let immature forum kids give you crap about release dates. Release the mod when you want to =)

 

Take your time, and always remember to ignore the haters. They have no idea how hard modding is.

For the most part you're probably right, however if someone needs help, it's not like a wealth of knowledge is at your fingertips. Posts need to be made so you can work out a problem. If nobody posted about WIP, we wouldn't have ANY good mods or the variety. Period. Important to make that distinction.

 

That's a fair point as well. WIP Beta Released mods are available for download and they have threads about them =)
