I normally dont mind the fast sections if only there were some more technical sections. Also Fortune Island was a step in the right direction with the Needle Hill Climb but sadly its not long enough.

In process of building a custom PC for someone else. Their old PC had:

4 GB DDR3
Intel Pentium dual core
Intel HD 3000 series graphics

This new build:
16 GB DDR4
AMD Ryzen 7 3700X
Nvidia GeForce 2070 Super
Samsung 2 TB SSD

Can't wait to see how they react once I finish the assembly. They're going to wonder how they ever put up with that old Pentium laptop.

 

Well my truck decided it was gonna break down today! But thankfully it was on the road I live on. I’m sure it was the lack of fuel getting to the engine but it started back up after about 5 minutes.

 

How old and how many miles on it?

 

1995 Ford Ranger with 388,000 miles.

I'm guessing the Accord listed on your profile is what you're replacing that with? It doesn't seem like a safe idea to be driving something with that many miles on it.

 

If it was well maintained, no issue. It’s a ranger though so you never know.

 

It doesn't matter how many miles are on a car, it is how the miles got there and how it was maintained while doing those miles. You could have a brand new pickup truck with 3,000 miles on the odometer, but the entire thing could be junk because it was taken on the Dakar rally. On the other hand you could have a truck that has 3,000,000 miles on it that has never been above 2,500 rpm and had each service performed long before the reccomended intervals. With enough care and money, a car can last forever.

 

I also learned the hard way that low miles doesnt mean reliable i now would rather take a car that has done some miles but mostly motorway and long distances because those things are more reliable

 

This statement is very true. How do you think we have cars from the 20s and 30s still here. Well maintained vehicles live longer than vehicles that aren’t maintained as well. As for my situation my truck used to be a work truck so it had constant maintenance done to it.

Fords are actually very reliable. Way better than Chevys in my opinion. I would know because my dad’s F250 hasn’t had any problems yet my mom’s Equinox was in and out of the shop. It got so bad she got rid of it and got a Lexus.

 

I agree, even though I have a GMC. One problem after another. In the past year I put a water pump, starter, power steering pump and lines (and am still chasing leaks), distributor cap and rotor, and probably more I forgot on it in the year that I had it. I love it but its getting expensive, and it only has 92,000 miles on it. It was a work truck so I imagine it was well maintained. My grandpa has a 2002 Silverado. It has 150,000 on it, had about 100,000 on it when he got it in 2006. It is reliable, but in that time he put 2 water pumps, a fuel pump, brake lines, and a lot of other small things.
My dad had Fords for years and most were relatively trouble free. The only one that was junk was a 1997 F150, which was good when new, but quickly fell apart. The best was a 1988 F250 that had over 300,000 on it, and a 2005 F150 that had 150,000 on it.
The thing is, when Ford finds a problem they correct it. Chevy's are still having the same problems they had 30 years ago. I am expecting my fuel pump and brake lines to fail next. Both of which are getting changed over the summer if they last that long.

 

As an example, my 1999 Buick Regal has less than 97,000 miles but the headgasket blew. The reason is that the car sat for 2 years and the coolant became acidic. I of course replaced a lot of coolant lines and flushed the coolant, but the gasket was weak and stopped sealing after I had the car for a year and put around 5,000 miles on it. Before it sat it was in near perfect condition, but it needs as much work as a 200,000 mile car.

 

I watched Ford vs. Ferrari. I liked it.

 

It really was a great movie, pretty much dead-nuts accurate as well.

 

Not exactly—as with nearly all biopics, some changes were made for dramatic effect and better storytelling. Some of the bigger ones being that Fiat didn't buy Ferrari until 1968, Ken Miles never threw a wrench at Carroll Shelby, and Miles died testing a prototype car that caught fire because he was thrown out of it, not because he was trapped inside.

That being said, it's a very good and mostly accurate movie, and gets the important parts right while still making for good storytelling.

Found some info on Snowrunner and was all excited to preorder it, which is something I haven't done with a game in almost 7 years (since Gran Turismo 6), and then I find out that it's exclusive to the Epic store. Good grief, I'd forgotten that place existed and I honestly wish it didn't.

 

There's an older F150 down the street from me for sale. Single cab, probably 2WD, and $800 obo. Needs work and a paint job, and I honestly really want it. Too bad I don't have the money. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
