See, they're priced very similarly to what an equivalently sized competitor goes for here in the states, but lord help you if it breaks. If I could get a turbo Golf CPO with one hell of a warranty, maybe, but other than that they just aren't very appealing here. Their owners are kind of crazy, too. They have a hint of Subaru owners about them. I don't get it.
That's the thing, VAG parts are super available and cheap over here. There's almost nothing that's unobtainable. Hell, there's plenty of folk around that can deal with the electronics side of things too, remapping, key programming, bypassing ABS etc. It's American cars here that are then to be feared if they go wrong. But that's because you can't get the parts here, got to get them from the US and that's expensive. Though that's also why VAG ends up expensive in the US
Can only agree parts are dirt cheap for VAG for example a front fender for a mk4 golf costs 30 euros painted its 50 then ABS module if it breaks costs 30 Euros the whole exhaust costs 50 without the catalytic converter a timing belt with the warerpump and everything cost like 40 euros. If a japanese car breaks thats when it gets expensive because they arent sold as much here hence there arent that much companys that make parts for them.

Look, I'm not denying climate change. I know it exists. However, I think people should be allowed to use bikes, cars, trucks, buses, trains, etc to travel places. While I do think people should do their part to help the environment, I do not think cars and trucks should regulated to just tools of trade. Learned recently that whenever a keyed alike fleet order is made for ford of North america, the cars come without an immobiliser and all keyed the same. And I don't mean keyed the same within the fleet, the same key is used for *any* fleet. It was also common for municipal orders to be keyed alike fleets, and a good chunk (though absolutely not all) of police orders for crown vics. This effectively meant that with the 1284X key being available on Amazon for a mere 20 bucks. You can have an entire car for 20 bucks, it even comes with a free gun in the trunk and some other equipment Gets even dumber when it comes to gun racks. Many of them are wafer cores that'll open with just a jiggler. Many are CH751, a very common standardised key thats available for 4-5 bucks online, and will unlock a remarkable variety of equipment (including many off the shelf key cabinets, which amusingly in an office building you might open a cabinet with a CH751 and find more CH751's hanging in it). And some (thankfully very few), use a handcuff key, again, available for under 5 bucks online, heck its 3d printable, or openable with a bobby pin
Really, the guy wants $8900 for it which is too much, but I would think that an AWD RT in good shape would still be worth at least 6k.
What year is it? I just can't justify spending that much on a Charger that's been through police service. Their reliability is pretty sketchy from what I've seen. But that's me. I'm cheap. I was looking through completed listings on ebay and many later model police chargers were selling in excess of $6k.
2014, last year of my favorite body style. It's dark blue and doesn't have a divider or vinyl rear seats so I think it must have been something other than a regular patrol car, probably why the guy is asking more. From what I've watched/read reliability is actually relatively good, lifter problems caused by running in 4 cylinder mode is really the only somewhat common issue that I've seen.
The body is usually a good indicator of whether a police car was used for patrol or not. One thing I've noticed on a lot of patrol cars are scratches on the rear doors, particularly the drivers side, caused by the officer's duty belt rubbing against the paint while stuffing perps. Hood/trunk will also show scratches from being used as a desk and work bench. That should be particularly easy to pick out on a dark colored car. I've read of a lot of electrical and top end engine issues. I've seen plenty of hemi chargers at auction with 100-150k miles on their second or third engine.
Being dark blue is a possible good sign. Make sure that it was originally dark blue and not repainted by the private seller. Typically, at least here in Florida, the cars are black, white, or gray were used as patrol cars, while the nicer colors are mostly detective cars. Check to see if there are dents in the headliner from a cage and if the rear door handles/window switches work.

So most of you might not know what exactly I drive. Well I am a proud owner of a 1995 Ford Ranger XLT and a 2012 Honda Accord(soon to be Dodge Magnum maybe). I took my Ranger out for a nice photoshoot on my way home. These were some of the pictures I got.
Yesterday, I was going through PDFs of 80s Chevy Caprice brochures. This is because while I love the Oldsfullsize mod, nearly all of the configurations are inaccurate and I wanted to make more realistic ones. While browsing through a brochure from 1987, I came across this page... Does anyone see that? Here, I've blown up the part of the image I'm talking about: That is a 1987 Chevrolet Caprice Wagon... with fender mirrors. I have looked all over the internet and have been unable to find any pictures—or any information at all—describing what is going on here. Were these actually a factory option on Caprice Wagons in 1987? The wagon in this picture is towing a camper trailer, which makes me think these were part of an optional towing package (like the one on the Bruckell LeGran), but I can't find any evidence that such trim package ever existed. The caption for this image says it is equipped with the optional Estate Equipment package, but I haven't managed to find any information on it outside of the limited information in this brochure, or a single picture of a Caprice Wagon with these mirrors. The "mirrors" part of the Features & Options page only lists the standard chrome ones and the rounded, body colored "Sport" ones. Could they be aftermarket? Would Chevrolet really include aftermarket mirrors on an official promotional image of their car? So the question remains: what are these, and where did they come from? If anyone else has seen or owns a Caprice with these mirrors, or knows anything about them, please do let me know.
