Update Speculation thread

Both the ETK 800 and K have a Polezei variant, and there was a border patrol D-series, but that was changed to park ranger.

Edit: Also the beam safari and zebra tours bus configs have no map that they really fit with.

 

Polizei is the German word for Police, and the ETK Driver Experience Center is set in Germany.

 

JRI.
It has beaches, abandoned places with most likely some history behind them and a volcano.

Utah.
Canyons and huge boulders add to the safari feel, and there are viewing areas along with a tourist center.

 

I agree with what you've said about Utah, especially given most of Utah is parkland, but I highly suspect JRI may change significantly in a future update (likely being set in an East Asian country, possibly Japan).

 

Yeah, but that's a closed course. There is just two public roads on that map, and they are really just to tie the whole map together.

Fair point about zebra tours, but a safari config doesn't really fit any map currently.

 

But it is a German map. Heck, they even made German license plates for the map. That doesn't change the fact that there is a German map, therefore there is a reason to make content for it, even if it is small.

 

On top of this, I remember seeing some dialogue files for another career mode chapter, which was set in JRI and used the Safari config. I think they've been removed since.

 

That dialogue was actually for a cut scenario that would have been released with 0.12. You would have driven around Jungle Rock Island in a DT40L and found various cardboard cutouts of animals. I believe said animals are still in the level files. Due to the fact that this was never implemented since 2018, I doubt it means anything now.

As far as I remember, following the update gaps of before releases, we could see this new update next week or the first of April, right?

I don't want to start again with the release speculations because it will not change anything, I just want to know if I'm right. Remember seeing a table but I can't find it tho.

 

I hope that the h-series will finally get some love.
