Yej page 53 of the Herbie thread I have just tested this (also thru dae and materials file(s) ). It's just the way the material works. The black boards share the same texture and material as the tire walls so you can indeed compare reflectivity with the tires.

thats what I feared, thanks for reporting. You need to clear your cache. I had to do it as well, after that the chrome was back. Hope that the same helps for you. I know right!
ummmm, well the textures are fixed, but for some reason he wont stop backfiring and the top speed is like 40
I got it updated successfully. Thanks guys! So shiny! The only thing left I can point out graphically is the right headlight. Is it missing a reflector? It was like that before except the left side was black along with all the other shiny bits that were also black. For all you mod users that are suffering from frequent backfires: Try using slow-mo while in air. You can also look at the console readout by pressing tilde and get important information about Herbie.
