"Lightbeams" Wallpaper Pack

    Hello everyone,
    Our next update is almost here! We wanted to share this wallpaper pack with you, and a bit of the behind-the-scenes content.

    Feel free to download and showcase your awesome PC setups!!




    Downloads

    Every phone has different support (or not at all) for Live Wallpapers.
    These were tested on a Mi 9T Pro fine. Other phones may have different requirements (such as lenght limit) or other.
    You can edit the clips to fit your phone's requirements.

    Making Of

    The idea behind this came from the necessity of transmitting the modern & futuristic soul of the upcoming new car, in the video that will mark its release. Together with some new techniques and possibilities, the in-game results came out to be pretty astonishing and mesmerizing.

    It all started by creating a dedicated texture in Blender:


    Which is made of a few cylinders placed strategically. The material uses a ColorRamp driven by a 'Random' input, which will end up scattering the colors across the objects.

    Because we need to use this texture in HDR format, it was first saved as OpenEXR, and then converted to DDS BC6H to preserve the HDR information.

    The texture was then mapped to a simple cylinder mesh:


    In-game, we used the Showroom level (the new version will be available in 0.19), and adding our cylinder the scene, the HDR nature of the texture soon came to life


    The final scene was made by simply stacking 3 cylinders, playing with the fog values of the level and our PostFX settings (in particular the improved Depth Of Field, coming also in 0.19):


    The result was spectacular for being in-game and lead to 98% of the final wallpaper.


    As a bonus, we left these assets inside the Showroom folder*
    When the update is out (soon), you will be able to try this by yourself, and expand this idea further to your own like :)

    oh my god, that is so cool! Also is Cherry-Vace is getting a hillclimb version? Because i saw some special bodykit on one of the wallpapers

    looks incredible, just what i need when 90% of the wallpapers in my pc's shuffle folder are beam screenshots anyway
    edit: also i could be wrong but is the first time the Burnside has canonically been called the Gavril Burnside?

    Strange, the videos doesnt work as live wallpapers for my phone, they are just black. My phone is Xiaomi Redmi 4X

    hey nadeox, why is not the animated ones doesnt work? It is just pure darkness. Is it Iphone only? If no then my phone is Xiaomi Redmi 4 X
