See below: That's exactly the problem yes, by managing to make things work that jbeam is wonky as hell and causes those issues, I'm currently also looking for help since every time I try to fix it, I break something else... That's one of the reasons I removed the rear engine, it was beyond saving on my hands, the front one goes weird, but at least it goes.
So I deleted, and then reinstalled the mod, and then deactivated all of my other mods, refreshed the cache and then reactived just this mod, and the rim textures are still glitched and messed up.
FWD electric vehicle is a bit unrealistic because of lower efficiency and handling. In fact rear-engined RWD is more efficient than front-engined FWD because while turning the friction of the CV joint cause some energy loss. Most economical ICEV use FF because RR is more dangerous due to frequent snap oversteer. This is not a problem in 2WD EV because an electric motor is lighter than an ICE and a battery pack is heavier than an ICE. Thus, vehicle engineer simply put the motor at rear and adjust the center of mass via moving the battery.
Check the vehicles folder in Documents\BeamNG.drive, if you see a roamer folder, delete it (unless you have any custom config done, in that case, search for a folder called JP inside of it and then delete just that one), it can contain some old files as well. The car can't spawn with the old wheels since the new ones are replacing them, they are not coded at all anymore, so somewhere (probably in that folder) there are some old files overriding the new ones. I would definitely like to move the powertrain to the rear axle, but due to a couple of problems I just menctioned some posts ago, it's the only way to go for now.
Alright, IDK what the heck is wrong with my game, but literally nothing is working and the textures refuse to work. They are there, the yellow, but its simply like it's off to the side, and I've done what you suggested, and it still doesn't work. Unless I did something wrong, I'm about to just give up and accept these broken textured wheels. Literally, nothing has changed after everything I have done.
At this point, a full reinstall by deleting every folder in Documents is all I can see, the textures are fine, but they are trying to be rendered in the old rims, so if after everything you have done they are still coming out of somewhere, well, I can't work out where and how exactly, the mod is fine, the game itself is surely fine, something is wrong in the local files at Documents for sure, it's the only place it can happen...
Well, that's a very specific instruction, and by gawd, it worked! Deleting all of those won't drastically effect anything else, will it?
After playing the game a bunch of times, it does not appear that anything is badly affected. Although some vehicles crash me when I hit them a certain way. Like a Ford Falcon crashed my game when I fell of the gridmap loop thingy and landed on the front end. IDK if it's just my laptop, since I crash rather often, or a result of me deleting all those.
Somehow my brakes stopped working on all the roamer versions. Removed this mod, and they are working again. Anyone else have this issue, or is it on my end?
It is other mod, it also happened to me, can't really tell which one was causing the issue, but I can assure you it's not this one. Probably a cache cleaning might help?
Ahh.. Guess i have to go through the mods again Think i have cleared the cache 5 times today lol (between removing mods, trying again and so on)
I actually had that problem as well. I at first thought the brakes on this MOD were broken, or the Jurassic Body broke the brakes, but after restarting the game, it fixed. --- Post updated --- Also, one question, there is an option for the rear suspension called "Live Axle Jurassic Park", but it doesn't spawn on the tour car, and it also crashes my game every time I try to equip it. Is anyone else having this problem, or is it just me?
That's a leftover for the time being, it was part of the old EV 4x4 system, but it is indeed beyond broken at this point, so please avoid using it. The drivetrain is currently a bit of a mess, since it's not how I want it to work, but until a solution is found, this is the way to go, FWD EV only...
OK...so the whole "All Roamers are not braking at all" issue was caused by the mod after all, and it was caused... ...by the skin jbeam file along with the skin itself being on their own "skins" folder. Yup. I just moved the jbeam to the main folder, merged the skin materials file with the main one, and located the skin texture on the materials folder, in other words, I deleted the skins folder and moved the files to the rest of the mod. And now all Roamers are braking again. Go figure... Anyway, a hotfix is now on its way EDIT: And here it is. I can't edit the first post though...
You're welcome! Weird indeed, I was looking everywhere and couldn't make sense of what was going on, so I went back to basics, deleting every file from the mod one by one until the vanilla Roamer started braking again...and there it was. I would have never guessed that was the issue in a million years, it shouldn't even be possible!
So I just tried loading this, and I don't know if it was a game issue or what, but the game started using all my RAM trying to load it.
I guess that is not mod issue. I haven't that issue. But I find another bug: three top headlights light in front AND BACK suddenly. AND THE CAR HASN'T BRAKES!!!! Even parking brake don't working.
