i want the clutch assist to work again while the brake is held for offroad purposes. this feature being removed completely ruins slow speed offroading in this game for me, which is 99% of the fun i had in this game now gone.

or at least have a different game mode or beta version where its enabled, or change some other per-requisite for competitive use instead of deleting this feature. there has to be another way that doesnt involve ruining manual transmissions with clutch assist for crawling.

Why not just use an auto trans? They are far better for crawling in my opinion, no clutch to worry about, torque coverter helps.

because my actual jku in real life is a manual and i have seen it to be superior to automatics out on the trails.

Irl sure, but i think in beam auto trans is better for crawling, its easier to just manage throttle and brake, rather than have to worry about loading the clutch.

yes, now it is, by forced obsolescence by the devs.

Even before it was removed I still prefered auto trans. Everyone has preferences but to me auto has always been better in beam.

I agree - Nadeox1 said it was because people were using it to cheat somehow, apparently the way they held the clutch would have made it blow up IRL (something like that, anyways). IMO it should have just nuked the clutch in-game too, but the devs decided it made more sense to remove the clutch assist instead.

Just add a crawler box to the car is possible & off you go. Don't think you can go faster than 1-2mph with it on idle

I don't get why it's a big deal to want it back lol. That feature was pretty much the only way to slip the clutch while using a controller. I used it to slip the clutch while launching manual cars at the drag strip as well as offroading.

This. You used to be able to launch manual cars like automatics with the old clutch assist simply by brake loading.
Don't quite understand the cheating stuff... isn't this a sandbox foremost after all?

I end up overrevving my engines a lot while powershifting due to the latest update. Wonder if there's a way to turn it off. Also, the violent brakestands are a lot less powerful feeling

The reason that there was some flack towards grizzly is because of his attitude, he was very stubborn and very rude. He did not handle it very well.
Back to the topic of the thread, I do think there should be some system to bring that back, as I do see the need for it, however it wasn't very realistic so I fully understand why it was removed.

i believe the change was valid.

what was actually affected was the clutch assist, which is supposed to actuate the clutch for you so you don't have to worry about it. this being a realistic game, they want the clutch assist to actually use it like a normal person usually would. a normal person driving normally definitely wouldn't rev up the engine and slip the clutch with the brake applied to give load to the engine and launch it. this would be bad for the clutch. so the clutch assist realistically prevents it now. it can't cover support for every type situation.

it's supposed to be a crutch, or an assist to help you use the clutch, it's not situation based. it attempts to use it like a normal guy would use the clutch when driving.

So if it is bad for the clutch - simulate clutch damage more accurately, don't remove a feature some of us use. Better yet; make the clutch assist realistic so scenarios like rock climbing, drag racing, driving a semi up a small grade, etc. aren't completely impossible without using a full pedal setup (some of use just use keyboards). If you think throttle, clutch, and brake are all mutually exclusive - I recommend you spend some time cruising San Francisco in an under-powered manual.
