got another free lawnmower engine

 

Ordered a complete new set of locks and Irmscher tuning taillights for my Kadett.
And then the pos snapped the alternator belt.
5€ and 3 mins later new was installed.

 

I made a youtube comment and now it has 2.5K likes

Planning an eventual trip to Japan. Once this covid-19 crap is over, I'm going to try to get a passport. I've been saving my money, and the current state of the economy has not prevented me from continuing to do so. So far, I definitely have enough for the passport, and plane ticket.

 

I went a few years ago, fantastic place definitely recommend if you get the chance.

I've never been on a run before in my life, and i did 6.5km today in 51min for NHS.. But I don't understand how people can just go for a run without doing anything else. So i pushed my 3yr old sister in a buggy all the way. Also in jeans.
That was an experience.

 

Beamng.drive on a direct drive wheel is something else entirely...

Do you guys know a program where i can convert MP3 and Flac to OGG? Because i want to have my music in my summer car so i can listen to it while building the car.

plenty of online converters. Remember mp3 to ogg is similar to how you would do it for minecraft.. there is bound to be some software out there

 

You can use Foobar2000. It's the program I use to listen to music. It comes with a converter that allows you to encode to various formats. Although you need to install their free converter pack that allows you to encode files to MP3 and OGG Vorbis.

Edit: And yes, it's much better than Groove Music/Windows Media Player/Those online converters because it doesn't eat up memory and allows you to change the file conversion settings, allows you to set playlists, or show all music, and you can use a bunch of themes other people have made, or you can make your own theme

 

Last weekend I developed a PHP site around Forza Motorsport 4's main game database. It contains the data for every car engine in the game (barring DLC as those haven't been imported yet), with each engine's internal name being a clickable link:



And clicking one will take you to its details, a generic page with nothing hard-coded except for telling it that Bugatti's engines are quad turbocharged. These stats are all dynamically pulled in from the database, showing both with and without forced induction for any engine that may have forced induction when stock
The torque is also graphed in the same way the game calculates it for NA engines, and is mostly accurate for forced induction engines. It's graphed as it would be when the car is moving, so it only draws with stock forced induction for applicable engines:



This also allows for me to see the output of any engine that I add to the game (using a graphing spreadsheet and real RPM-to-torque data, from other games or real dyno sheets). Here's the Alfa 147 GTA engine I've just ported over from Gran Turismo 6:




I thought it'd be a fun project, mainly to see if it was possible with PHP, but also because it kind of helps being able to see the engines I develop without having to boot the game. It's interesting to me so I thought I'd share.

 

Foobar2000 is also just generally a great program to have around. Its GUI is straight and to the point, and it has add ons that add capabilities to it like one that lets you stream audio from YouTube videos.
