People speculating about a German map while the only thing I'm waiting for is the Industrial remaster.
I'd rather have remasters than maps for the time being, it's so refreshing seeing the old maps revamped and stuff. Also, remasters are a lil bit easier to make than a scratch map because the layout is already done. Sentence 2 would be pointless if they have already started a map secretly.
I think i have a theory as to why the Devs hold back so much on multiple body styles, that in the end only add to the game and no one would bat an eye if every car had 73 different body styles. I think the reason why they are holding back so much is the vehicle selector. With the current style of vehicle selector you can only have so many body styles before it becomes impossible to find what you are looking for. Which brings me to my theory, that when the selector is revamped, after the devs figure out a way to organize the cars better based on different body styles and years and such, we could definitively see those multiple body styles that have been hinted over the years but never actually confirmed. (Im looking at you, 800 Series Sedan)
Id say the same for a miramar coupe of some kind, tbh they could just use ninetynine's miramar z coupe because he is a developer now.
A better vehicle selector certainly would help matters.... right now a single car may end up taking up 3 spaces for manual, auto and DCT. And that is before you consider addons like sport and offroad.
We need something like this : Chassis/Car > Body type (4 or 2 door for the Bluebuck, Hatchback or crossover for the FCV for example)> Pre-made config > Transmission and color
I think that model year will also likely be selectable, for the D-Series and possibly also the Pessima.
Trying to make a full list... feel free to add what I have forgotten: Select vehicle Vehicle Year/Generation Body Type Power source (Gasoline/Diesel/Electric) Transmission type Drivetrain type Colour Example Tograc 160Q (DCT) FCV 2020 Model Year (does not appear as there is only one at the moment) Crossover Gasoline DCT 4WD/AWD Select Colour Spawning....
I got a similar but different idea: Brand Model Year range/Generation Body Style and Color (Think of it like the traditional car selector in Forza/GT) Type of Fuel Trims and variants Transmission Spawning. ------------------------------------------------------------- So using your example with the Tograc 160Q Brand: Cherrier Model: Tograc Year/Generation: 2020 Body Style: Crossover, Red Type of Fuel: Gasoline Variant/Trim: 160Q Transmission: DCT/AWD (Here you can integrate both FWD and AWD variants) As always remember that less is more. You cant have a maze of menus and selectors that people have to basically decipher every time they want a new car. Also a functionality that could be added is both a frequently used section, and a favorites section, that helps people not need to go through the whole spawning process to get a car.
for something like a D series, I say you'd select something like: Gavril D series D25 (this locks out larger frame lengths if you select D15, for example) 1985 model Long bed extended cab v8 petrol 4wd (combined for simplicity's sake, why separate engine size and fuel type?) fleet trim Transmission
It's been 2 years since we had the UI - Sneak Peak posted on the Devblog. I wonder where they are with that in terms of progress.. That UI looked super cool, so I'm just wondering.
