I'm guessing official convertibles will come when the audio muffling issue is fixed when you're in the driver view

The wendover might actually be really cool since they said they're gonna try to make it a bit more different than the legran. Just a very very big guess here but maybe a kind of monte carlo or something semi cool.

Now I feel like I haven't been on here a while. Well, the informative button had a good run I guess. It managed to outlast the other buttons like dislike, disagree, awesome/winner, etc.

And people actually reported how the Informative button was used? I'm sitting here wondering if it could've had anything to do with how michael_zowski constantly had his posts rated "Informative," apparently for no given reason, at least none that I'm aware of.

My post may help answer your question regarding that.

After how much progress has been made with the official cars lately, it only makes sense for it to have a similar amount of customizability. My point still stands, if the Bluebuck can have two different sedan and coupe options, and the FCV can have both a 5-door hatchback and a crossover SUV, not to mention the D-Series' configurations, why can't the Wendover have both sedan and coupe options? With the kind of vehicle it is, a mid-late 80's American fullsize FWD car, it only makes sense, as two cars that I think are similar in concept to the Wendover are the Buick LeSabre and the Oldsmobile Delta 88, as they were also mid-late 80's American fullsize FWD cars, and they came with both sedan and coupe configurations. The LeSabre and Delta 88 were both on the same platform, the H-Platform, and only one of the cars on that platform didn't come with two different body types, that being the Pontiac Bonneville sedan.

And I still support it having electronic voices, and I'm onboard with it having a Civetta Special Edition. It plays into the whole "it wishes it was cooler than what it actually is" description gabester gave about it.

As for the Wendover having a convertible option, if it does get a Civetta Special Edition, it could easily have a hardtop convertible configuration, considering the Chrysler TC done it.

I'm thinking that most likely that whatever triggers the interior audio would most likely move along with the convertible top, as I've noticed that when you move the camera around, there's actually a way to hear outside audio while the camera is still inside the car.

no its just hard to implement. mud physics probably wouldnt happen, but adding simple dirt would probably be pretty easy, like in many games where dust just appears the longer you drive.

It would be too CPU intensive compared to the utility of this thing (especially mud physic). But making the car looks dirty when driving into sand/mud/dirt could be a really nice addition

I think several devs have given a statement on that. BeamNG's devs aren't the devs of "many games", they're the devs of BeamNG.drive, and if I remember correctly, that is why they want to do it as realistically as possible. So if they do it at some point in the future, same with a scratch system, it would have to be realistically simulated in order to meet the quality standards they want to achieve with their game.

That said, I have wondered for a long time why the glass physics are still the same as they were in 2013... An unsmashable windshield is about as far away from realistic simulation as GTA's "oh look, your car had contact with dirt? It is now dirty!".

I mean I understand why we don't have those realistic glass breaking physics yet - probably because of technical limitations, same as dirt and scratch physics - but at least a windshield that can be broken beyond looking like a spider's web would be nice to have.
I suspect that this has still not been changed because the devs do want to have a much more realistic system but just haven't had the possibility to implement one yet...

It was probably explained at some point, but why exactly is dirt physics harder to implement in BeamNG than it is in Spintires?

probably because beam runs on a really old engine. Maybe it isnt harder than in spintires, but its just hard.
