Yeah after 2 ipods down the drain and being completely replaced due to a warranty of some sorts, I always buy warranties/insurance for mobile devices.
I've never heard of someone buying a replacement warranty for a Nokia.. Although Nokias are tough it's really just the old ones that were actually indestructible. (The ones where all you could do is call people and play snake.)
I've never had an electronic thing accidentally break. Only from a LOT of normal use. My old smartphone, an LG Phoenix p505, is nearly indestructible though. I've had it fall out of my pocket on a roller coaster, dropped it onto concrete and tile every which way, it was run over by a car, and nothing has broken on it.... all without a case, too.
That's because it's a cheap phone made out of flexible materials. I used to have a Pantech touchscreen dumbphone. It was absolutely awful to use and feel. I've thrown it on the ground and it hasn't broken in any way. My Alias and Alias 2 phones have suffered many drops without breaking. I have had devices break. My old iPod Touch had a harline crack in the corner and I dropped my first Nexus 7 and took a chunk of glass out of the corner. (No glass from the area above the LCD but the digitizer broke so..) I've also dropped my current N7 in a parking lot with no case. Luckily it just dented and cracked the metal bezel and the screen itself is in perfect condition. (The case/flip cover I have covers the bezel.) At my school most of the iPhones either have an Otterbox or are cracked. I don't plan on getting a case or screen protector for my phone. I'll just hope I don't break it. (It was $65. I can just buy a new one.) My dad has had his Droid 3 for years and it's been in perfect condition with just a screen protector. My mom has broken many phones.. A couple flip phones and her iPhone had a broken back which I replaced because it's the easiest thing on an iPhone 4 to fix but then she dropped and smashed the front glass so she got a Moto X and broke the screen on that. She got another Moto X and still doesn't use a case or screen protector.
Team died down too. We were 400k away from 25m almost 10 days ago and should have passed it in 3 days but our ppd dropped like a dude killed by the mafia in 1953 and it's been low since. I should be on a solid fold for the next 5 days though as I'll be on a trip to Alabama and leave it folding at half power.
I would be folding but gaming. EDIT: I did it. Noah's post is 20 minutes ago, hemi's is 10 and mine is just now.
Well, I have a bit of money right now and I'm thinking I'll save up a little bit more to get an AMD card so I can fold on 3 GPUs isntead of just 1! (Or fold on two, game on one. I currently cannot use the 6550D in my APU because I have an Nvidia card.) What should I get? I was thinking something like a 7870 or an R9 270/270X. (Has to be good, but cheap.) EDIT: I'm thinking of either the XFX Double D R9 270 for $160 or the MSI GAMING one for $180. Or maybe I should just get a used card.. EDIT 2: Okay. I'm seeing R9 270 MSI cards on eBay new for as cheap as $140. Now I just need like $30.
So I just bought Space Engineers on impulse due to Guude, Coestar, Millbee, Avidya, and Pause's let's play. This game looks amazing.
