So... odd observation here (and not DSE related), but are the Cherriers in the European C or D-segment?

The size of the passenger cabin is rather similar to the 800 and the wheelbase happens to split the difference of that and the Sunburst.

With a 2.0L petrol auto AWD drivetrain, the Vivace's weight is also much, much closer to the 800 than the Sunburst.

    C-Segment.

European classification is more dependent on market placement than actual sizing.

Current european compacts are often close to previous (small) D-Segment cars. Like, the latest Ford Focus (4.38m) is just a hair shorter than the GD Subaru Impreza (4.41m), which was a Compact by american classifications, but a small D-Segment in Europe.

    Ah, interesting.
Was comparing sizes with Beam's other modern cars after finding the weight debate earlier in this thread and suddenly thought of the old DS5.

One observation of the Vivace is the fairly high trackwidth and body width (minus mirrors) relative to length and wheelbase, more so with the wide body models; they are as wide or wider than the 800.

I'm guessing that it could contribute to some of the weight difference from IRL vehicles in the same class with similar drivetrains, perhaps the structure is more reinforced at certain parts too.

Another observation is shared with other Beam vehicles; the dual clutch and standard transmissions are very close in weight.

    >well packed with configs to mess around, probably one of the most fully-fleshed cars yet.
    >complains about having only 2 ev configs even though the last time we had anything electric, that was 3 configs.

I don't think I need to explain that one detail doesn't make the entire car unfinished, let alone one that most people shouldn't bother to care about.

If I had to guess, I’d say “French Compact Vehicle.”

Could be any combination of French/First/FWD Cherrier/Compact/Crossover Vehicle.

Yes I know not every config is FWD or a crossover, but that's how naming conventions go sometimes...

Because they don't need extra configs? And I have no idea what you mean in the second sentence.
