Hello! So when I first saw that the Cherriers were coming as both fuel and electric versions I was really hoping there would be a hybrid version too, because french cars like Peugeot actually did/do use hybrid systems where an ICE powers the front wheels and an electric motor the rear. ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PSA_HYbrid4 ) Peugeot 508 RXH for example uses a 2l Diesel I4 sending 163hp to the front wheels plus a 37hp rear electric motor for a combined 200hp, 450nm, AWD and 4.2l/100km (56.0mpg US, 67.26mpg UK) Now this is way to complex for me to make a mod of, but for my plan/idea there will be a need for a hybrid fuel tank/battery, that's smaller than stock battery model (think 10-15kw instead of 50kw) and a way to make both powertrains work at the same time, I experimented with just throwing battery storage onto the normal gas tank for fun, but it obviously wasn't that simple. An inteligent engine/motor control system to manage the motor and engine will also be needed, which I have no idea of how it works, for switching on and off the engine and charging for the battery. The end products I'm looking for is: A Eco hybrid using the 110hp 1.2l I3 Gas and/or 110hp 1.5l Diesel coupled with a 50kw (67hp) rear electric Motor on the rear A sport hybrid using the 2.0l C 270 detuned to 250hp and a 100kw (134hp) rear electric motor A Tograc offroad hybrid using the 150hp 2.0l Diesel and the 100kw rear motor All the torque curves can be supplied by me. //Warkus
I can only make small jBeam modifications, like making the desired modifications to stock engines and making new torque curves for the electrical motors, like I said this is something thats way over my head, but something I really want.
Yeah this is way over your head You either need to teach yourself something like Implementation or get a ton of people to help
Hence why I put it in suggestions, not in mod support, hoping that either the devs would pick up on the idea and maybe implement an easier system for making hybrids like this. Or someone that's made hybrid mods before could join in to try to help. I'm not saying it will be done by me, or by anyone, it's just a suggestion...
Lemme tell you, making a proper hybrid system in BeamNG is a pain in the ass & I'm sure @Arcanox can concur. He definitely made a great system, but trying to implement it into another vehicle would require extensive jbeam modifications
