Most of those are just background decor (I forgot the term) where the player isn't meant to be or go.

More of a general map comment that can apply to WCUSA... Don't want to bump an old thread/make a new one for such a simple suggestion.

We need a runaway trump ramp in a BeamNG map. I'm not sure if these are a thing in Italy IRL, but I know they are in Cali. That would be an awesome thing for those who like driving the T-Series. (Are these even a thing in ETS/ATS? I've never noticed any in ETS, never played ATS).

They exist all over the world where trucks need use steep roads. However most of the time there is alternative road so most of these roads are "closed" for heavy trucks (like in Wurzen Pass where there is tunnel right now). But yes, there are runaways or escape lanes all over the world (from UK, Germany etc. to USA and Australia).

I just figured a place like the Italian islands might not get particularly large trucks, or have sufficient alternate routes/ban trucks on these roads. All of the videos I've seen of them in use are in the USA. When I was a child my dad owned a small trucking company for a couple of years (that was his midlife crisis dream job...), I use to ride in his Freightliner up and down the East Coast once in awhile and saw them a lot in Virginia. They've certainly always facinated me.

Interesting fact is these runaway truck ramps are filled with super soft gravel so your semi/trailer sinks in and gets stuck there and has to be manually removed with heavy equipment... seems like a fun campaign mission if you ask me

WCUSA is not a bad map in any sense of the word. B25Mitch did a fantastic job.
Its problem lies in its layout and size. The map's size needs to be increased, the mountains and cliffs made smaller, and the layout changed.

In my opinion, San Fierro in GTA:SA also didn't turn out too well. Not so much wasted space, but really odd transitions (One side of the road is inner city, the other side is rural fields) and a cramped feel? Definitely. San Fransisco-inspired cities are really tough, So I'd suggest taking more inspiration from LA.
    That's just my two cents.

Of all of the BeamNG maps, this was the one I was the most excited for as it was the first official urban map. It was also the first to have a large highway system.
Unfortunately the highways all end in dead ends and don't have smooth transitions to each other which defeats a lot of the purpose to have highways. I can't cruise around and loop the map at high speed on the highways because I have to either slow down and take an exit to another road that goes to the next section of highway, or plow into a wall. That could be fixed by having looping highway tunnels similar to the one in Utah, the map wouldn't need to be expanded but the cruising range would be greatly increased.

There's also the performance issues, but those have been discussed many times already so I won't go into detail with that.

One of the other issues with this map is that a lot of the buildings are oddly placed, conflict with terrain, and that there is a lot of wonky terrain bits around hills. It makes the map seem unfinished compared to other maps in the game. Here are some examples of that:
    screenshot_2020-04-22_18-31-29.jpg screenshot_2020-04-22_18-33-00.jpg screenshot_2020-04-22_18-33-33.jpg screenshot_2020-04-22_18-34-57.jpg screenshot_2020-04-22_18-35-18.jpg

Despite these issues I still like the map and it is still good for playing in an urban setting but the highway design, strange building/terrain placements, and frame rate issues make it harder to enjoy than some maps.

Nadeox already said that the terrain can't be increased in size. It's already a 4k terrain downsized for additional (needed) resolution to a 2048m × 2. Making the terrain bigger would require lowering the resolution, which would make the steep hills and racetrack much less smooth.

As for the latter part of your post, I honestly don't find LA much of an interesting city to drive compared with SF. The mountains are nice, but you're proposing making them smaller. Dodging traffic on the freeways at high speed sounds like fun, but unless you've got a good PC, there's never gonna be much traffic. We already have both of the above and the channelized rivers, so I don't think it's to the map's debit that we also get a suspension bridge and some sharp urban hills to fling our cars off of. I could go either way on the racetrack, but the abruptly inclined streets á la Bullit was half the point of the map, to my mind.

Deleted because I forget numbers and assume most I5's are technically inferior to most I7's

It's not about winning the lottery (and yes, theoretically the odds of getting a good chip is the same for everyone) but just having an up to date PC, I don't get why people with lower than minimum specs expect that the should be crippled for everyone else just so they can run the game... Just buy a better PC it's not that expensive

i7 875k and 750ti can run it easily and i'd not call this setup a silicon-lotery winner
