Guys, I've come to conclusion that we may not be able to stop these ads. I can't say for sure, but users on here (such as @Doylee for example) are saying that's the case. I definitely don't approve of these ads, but hey. What are we gonna do. Hopefully @Srockzz will be able to share their thoughts on this before the thread dies. I would love to stop these ads, so that way. Kids who think this game is free when it isn't won't be complaining about how it's "unfair", but we may not be able to. However, taking down YouTube definitely isn't the solution to this issue. I don't know what the solution is, but it's definitely not taking down YouTube. That's for sure. Anyways, this is my conclusion to this (for now). We'll see what happens later. So, it's kids talking about what they can do to stop fake ads?
bruh what are you talking about taking down youtube. wdym its not the solution if it isnt even possible. did you consider taking down yt?
The problem really isn't the YT platform, it's the people who approve the ads put on the platform. I mean, have you seen what they get away with?
Oh, okay then. Didn't even know that. Somebody else mentioned it and I disagreed with it. That's why I was talking about it.
Alright, here's my final 2 cents on this for now. I do think the ad is sketchy, but like users have said. There's nothing we can do to stop it. This just further proves my point.
Honestly ads like that are hilarious and they always send you on a roundabout route to get the game and then it doesnt work, I have seen it before on Minecraft some years back!
Honestly, my take on this is that ads like these will trick impressionable young kids into thinking that BeamNG is actually free. As for it not working, I'm not surprised at all about that. A "free BeamNG.drive" won't work for squat.
Yeah its a way to scam you into thinking its free when its like £20 here in the UK or something, honestly ads like that need to be banned, I hope the ASA (thats the UKs strict advertising standards board) gets wind of this and makes ads like this illegal in the UK to prevent it spreading
XD @appesh1 said it was $25. I think that's in the US, but I can't say for sure. Some kid's gonna see that ad and they're gonna say "tHis suCks, whY iSN't bEAMNg fREe" or some crap like that. I'm pretty sure the UK price you mentioned isn't free at all. I would love to hear other users share their thoughts on this.
Is there really that much that somebody can share their thoughts about? I think this thread is pretty much at a consensus that "it sucks, but that's the internet." No need to @ a bunch of people too, if they want to contribute to the thread, they will.
The internet is a shitty place, thats all i can say. Its a shame to see our game dragged through the mud. The thing is, i think that doesnt affect us. There is no overlap between the people that actually play beamng, and those that would fall for those advertisements
