Yeah, in some f1 crashes the rear end came off, and the cars split just behind the driver. Im not sure if its a subframe, but the engine and rear suspension came off in one piece.
actually, you’re right. I forgot that a rear subframe actually doesn’t exist and it uses the engine block as a structural member (stressed engine) and has the axles and transmission attached to the engine with not much other support.
Not sure on this yet, there will be some element of this but the main crash structure around the driver will be hard to deform by design. No and no.
It would be cool if each team's car is just a little different like in real life but that would take too long
Thought it might be time for a progress update Rear wing redesign, lowered, narrowed and an additional horizontal element by means of the supports Front suspension complete Rear suspension almost complete Rear end narrowed for better aerodynamics and to fit rear suspension better Engine air intake redesigned for more aerodynamic efficiency Shark fin profile reduced for a more gradual descent to the lower rear wing Cockpit design and steering wheel starting to come together
I cant wait for the car to be released I hope the downforce works on it correctly so I can throw it into the bends and not have to worry about it slipping out and relying on the aero grip on the car to keep me going around the bend!
