It'll get better for the time being, then the generation after mine will discover this place, I'm sure any of you could imagine how bad it could get... (finally figured out what these symbols above the text is)
Okay, maybe I overreacted a bit when I said that, but I honestly don't think it's a good idea. I mean, text walls, drama, huge discussions, and arguments probably shouldn't be in community screenshots, but what if somebody put text in there that's actually really informative? You can have your opinion on this subject, but I can have mine too. I honestly think banning people for putting just bit of text (especially informative text that's related to the image) is stupid and ridiculous. Users like @Srockzz make very entertaining posts (with text, of course) in Community Screenshots in my opinion and this would massively affect people like him. Anyways, that's just my take. Like I said, You can have your opinion on this subject. Well Nadeox1, Thanks for clearing this up. I think we should get some people on here to behave better, but I think we should make locking threads a last resort. Really, it's hard to get banned? Didn't even know that considering that GotNoSable!, Camera2004, and SHAW, got banned.
I'm on @Grind86's side here. He has a point, and I honestly find your "pic-only" idea hilariously laughable. Making the CS thread pic-only would be redundant because 1) you need text for the title of the thread, and 2) you also need text for the rules of the thread and whatnot. If people could, they would just make a thread like CS where you can have text. If things get out of hand, just lock the thread for a few days or so. It isn't that hard to understand. I don't want this post to get deleted and sorry if I came off as being harsh, I'm just trying to get my point across.
To be fair, he did say he's aware of rule text and whatnot, but banning people for 2 months for putting text in the thread is stupid. It might've been back in the past, but now. It doesn't feel like the case at all. Thanks for the information though. Yeah, I know. It could get pretty bad if the generation after yours discovers this place. They could end up being very immature and violating forum rules.
fivedollarmeme Anyways, I think many of the points being made in this thread can't be done justice by the words "valid" and "intelligent." Thank you, Re:Z_IA. love the kashira btw
I would just maybe would like the devs to add a profanity filter, but the claims you made were great and absolutely true
i agree, but its the internet; someone is always going to try to do the opposite of whatever you say, or find a way around it. any game with a (decently) large following will always have people like this. there's no way around it. there always was and always will be people like this
I completely agree with this. As long as they have the resources, anyone can get to the internet. There's no way you can control what opinions others have directly.
It would be amazing if we had a thread just to discuss the forum problems with moderators. Like for example i got warning trying to save a thread from drama since i wanted to post some progress updates and discuss mod not to have a drama(ibishu chisai) while moderator (leeloo) wasnt online. Id love to discuss situations like that.
No. We will only discuss actions taken directly with the user. You can appeal warnings/bans via support@beamng.com
I mean, if we had an open thread where we could discuss problems with mods, that could address lots of problems and we could have a closer moderator/community relationship. I don't see the problem with this idea. And also, why are some posts removed for reasons other than they should be? My post was removed from Dev screens for "Offensive Behavior". All I was doing was talking about an idea that someone mentioned(and not in the "oh its bad blah blah blah kinda way). Although I don't think it should have been removed, I feel that if you were going to remove it, it would be removed for off-topic. I'm just weirded out by seeing my posts deleted when they are either complying with rules, or are taken down for another reason (offensive behavior) when at the most it would get deleted for something else (off-topic).
Hi I'd just like to say that this community is still awesome and alot of the negative things get pointed out. Things like the community Lore project or the beamng RP groups are awesome and really interesting. Alot of the members on here are extremely kind and helpful when we have issues or need help with modding. I've been around since late 2013 (but made my account much later) and have seen the community evolve. What im trying to say is while on the surface it may seem we have many toxic people and childish people, there are alot of members under the surface that care and keep the community thriving
We have some loony people and WoM disgusting meshslaps, but we have four great mods for every meshslap. This community falls and crumbles, but it builds itself back up again. That cycle repeats.
