In Japan, kei cars reign supreme. This car is based on the Honda N Box, but it is a 3 door hatch. I am going to work on this cuz everything else of mine is on hold.
Yeah but I don't see anything wrong with there being even more kei cars. Anyways I hope modeling goes good on it! mr/ms.jitaru!
awesome car mod im looking forward for it i love kei cars and i agree we need more kei cars here in beam
Hey there, nice to see another kei car being built. As one who lives in japan and sees a tiring load of these daily, I'd like to offer some advice. a) NEVER go beyond the kei regulations. The 64hp rule and 4-seat rule is often forgotten. b) I... can't really say a 3-door box wagon is realistic. Cheapo models for, say, the mira exist (below) But obviously this looks quite different. It's a kei car, but not a box wagon. Box kei cars are family cars and, to fulfill that destiny, most (well, all AFAIK) have 5 doors (rear slideys). The 90s Wagon R had one; way different from the N-Box. My relatives own one and it's a nice little typical Honda, but I can't imagine it ever being 3-door because of what it was built for in the first place. If I were you I would - unfortunately - choose to go the 5-door route. Overall I like the concept of a bland kei to blend in with the city. It's something that's part of my daily life and would be a nice addition to the game.
I don't want to put you off, but the poly-flow looks horrible not very good. From the pictures it looks quite high-poly and looks like you're using a subsurf, and there's also some shading errors. I've highlighted some of the odd topology here; you can see that on the left section of the bumper it looks flat and low poly, whereas on the wing just beside the door it looks like there are vertices everywhere and that it looks like it bumps in a little. Could you show a wireframe picture just so I can see the strange looking poly-flow?
As a Japanese, I like kei cars. I'm glad to see Kei mods on BeamNG. Good luck with this project! If you have any problems please tell me and I'll find out.
If you decide to make it a Hirochi, that wouldn't be a bad idea to have some lore friendly competition between manufactures in the BeamNG universe. Keep up the good work.
That's why it's "WIP." My mod started as a roof model, and is still in the model stages and posting in the modeling phase gave me advice and help when needed.
As a Japanese domestic market, all of the real life japanese car makers except Lexus or Infiniti have its kei car to fit the demand of kei market(over 30%). So I think it makes sense when its setting follows real life JDM. What I wanna say.
