That one computer looks like something an adult could use, but the other system looks like it's made of cheap plastic. If I'm wrong, please tell me why. I don't wanna sound rude, either.

    Ok, let me conclude this:
You can like Linux, you can use it all the time, heck, you could pray to it for all I would care. Just I personally hate it, I am a Windows user, and it annoys me how some, sometimes most of the features I and all maybe Windows users use, like fast startup, Windows changelog, Windows hello, and many more, I respect older Linux Os’s as they were very unique in my mind, but now they just seem blah. I find Windows easier to use and just all around more stable, fast and customizable, I believe there are no drivers for RTX graphics cards(don’t quote me on that though) and just feels like rubbish to use, I have a really nice mouse and I felt drift when I went to my friends house and went on his Linux PC, I genuinely despise what Linux has become, but again, you can like it.

From what I can tell, the "kid" system is just a keyboard with a touchscreen, that has to be connected to a "real" computer. One has to put the Interacive CD in before using the damm thing

Yeah, windows 7 lost support from microsoft January of this year. the first stage in the consistent downhill nature of this year lol

I have installed windows 7 on my dell xps 720 (it is dual booted with windows 10, windows 8.1 and server 2016)

it received many security updates and it is now completely up to date. also, I stuck ms security essentials 2012 on it and that seems to work ok as basic antivirus. that machine never goes online so its ok.

however, I would never recommend using windows 7 as a daily driver anymore. it is too insecure. unless you have baller antivirus.

another thing most people do not realise, if you own a windows 7 licence, you can still upgrade to Windows 10 for free, I always buy systems, with a windows 7 licence because of this. when installing you installation of windows 10, just whack in your old windows 7 licence and your good to go.

& so is Linux. You want it to use little RAM & be fast? Install a different DE & WM. Customisability on Linux is just top notch, so you can make it look however you want, without having to be stuck with the default design, like on Windows or MacOS. You control the OS on Linux, not vice-versa

But I just hate what Linux has become, I genuinely hate it, it looks too much like Windows in my opinion and I just hate it’s guts. You can like it though, now can we please not discuss this further?

Welp, if Linux wants to be more known & used by many more people, it needs to become more mainstream so the general public would be able to use it without having to relearn how to use an OS

And that’s my point, you have to LEARN how to use Linux, but with others such as Windows or MacOS, it’s easy to get the basics down.
Can we have a common enemy though? That enemy should be chromeOS.

I just think W7 is the best and last good system from Micro$oft, because:
    1. This areo glass theme... something beautiful WoW
    2. For Start it doesn't install bloatware, and solitaire isn't paid lol
    3. No Shitty Metro-Similar apps
    Just normal OS

ps. Before you hate, this is just my opinion

Windows 7 is dead. Long live Windows 7.
As others in this thread have said, Microsoft officially ended support for 7 in January of this year (though not if you own the Enterprise version and are willing to pay a hefty sum*). You can still use Windows 7, but a combination of rising security risk and lack of compatible software means that soon enough Windows 7 will be about as usable (as a daily driver) as Windows XP.

"Can someone help me? I'm having a problem with [X platform]."
"just switch to [Y platform], problem solved "

I've used Windows 10 for years now and it really isn't as bad as people say it is. Sure I was never a frequent user of Windows 7, but you have to concede that the Aero UI is (at the very least starting to be come) dated. The Metro UI may not be the greatest (and the Windows Phone and Windows 8 were maybe the worst possible ways to introduce it) but it's clean and non-distracting. As for the bloatware, yes that is a major annoyance, but all of it can be uninstalled. Should it be bundled in the first place? No. But it doesn't render the entire OS unusable (even if you don't remove it). And are you really complaining that Windows doesn't bundle the old version of Solitaire anymore in 2020? For years you've been able to Google "solitaire" and the first thing that comes up is a playable, ad-free game that you can literally play in the results page. This may sound controversial but I believe that bundling small games with operating systems became obsolete in the mid-to-late 2000s, when the internet as we know it began to take shape.

*Per Wikipedia: "Windows 7 is eligible for the Extended Security Updates service. This service allows volume license customers to purchase, in yearly installments, security updates for the operating system until at most January 10, 2023 only for Professional and Enterprise volume licensed editions."

No, it's free to use, and $140 for the ability to change your wallpaper. All consumer PCs have it pre-installed, though.

Me too, I love Windows 10, I find it easy to use and very nice and fast, it's a very sturdy OS.
He means $140 for a legit license to Win7.
