I think the fire is pretty realistic ATM, only happening during bad crashes where the fuel tank gets punctured or crushed and especially with old vehicles. Plus, the fire isn't BeamNG's most polished visual effect, and too much of it can obscure the otherwise delicious destruction happening on screen. But I agree that the fire does need to be able to propagate from vehicle to vehicle.
Nah, not realistic really. Not only cosmetics or how it spread, the fire should only happen on fuel tanks with low capacity, and on cars with the engine heated up. Its really strange for most well built cars, even in a crash, to catch fire. Usually old cars get electrical fire but that's not simulated at all.
yeah, a fuel tank cant go boom if its full, only empty ones because its just the vapour, that stuff goes BOOM, whereas a full tank will just leak because there is just not enough air for it to ignite. I think
correct, you would need about 8/9 times air to fuel to get an actual explosion, more fuel than that and it wont be that easy. Also even with a lot of air an impact wont make it go boom, that's why i said the car should usually be running very hot for that to happen.
