The Ambulance is slow slow, by the time it arrives at the hospital, the patient's great great grandchildren would be dead.

    Welcome to socialist Czechoslovakia :p

People were even half-seriously say that as a patient, you'd be better off walking up hill than riding in Skoda 1203 :D and oh, the irony in the fact, that one of the big hospitals IS on a hill xD (not sure when it was built exactly)

How can you know, you don't even know what city I'm talking about, let alone the hospital :p

As a side note, I'm preparing more interesting skins :)

...and a totally new type - a flatbed with droppable gates!

A version with a roof is planned as well ;)

I gotta say, this mod already is AWESOME!!! its just so fun to mess with! I have only actually found two problems or glitches, 1. the crashing is a little janky especially in front impacts, 2. the seats are really glitchy and will spike out easily. apart from that I see no glitches or bugs. I know this mod isn't done yet but I just want to say, It does need a few more options for customising (limited slip diff, welded diff, more engines, transmissions, racing parts, beater configs, etc) But apart from that, This mod is almost repo worthy!! Its an awesome mod and I can;t wait for it to be complete! epic work! :)

Oh thought you were talking about the van not the hospital.

First off, thank you so much for your kind words!

I'm aware of both glitches and sadly, I could not resolve the spiking of the front parts :( I asked on the modders discord, no one knew, so it's kind of a mystery at this point. Maybe one day I'll discover how to eliminate that. It's my first mod and I only started learning jbeam a month ago. The seats can probably be solved by better collision triangles and I might take a look at it again when I get time.

I might add more options, but I wanted to keep this van as faithful to the original as possible ^^

Actually, the van was designed in 50s, then redesigned and the first release was in 1968. There's quite a history around it!

For this being the product of your first month learning JBeam, I'm absolutely stunned... This is better than some of the stuff that modders with YEARS of experience put out.

Spiking is directly caused by a lack of/poorly positioned Nodes in relation to the vertices of your model in that given section. Try adding/removing nodes, relocating nodes closer to (But not directly on-top of,) a vertex, or simplifying the model in areas that are spiking, and see if that helps. Some cases of spiking are simply due to having too many vertices in a given area of a model (such as when you model with a "Subdivision modifier" as it's known in Blender,) and if this is the case it may not be resolvable without redoing a significant portion of it.

    This Wiki page may be of some use to you;
    https://wiki.beamng.com/JBeam_Introduction#Nodes
It covers the basics about Nodes, and also has some good advice on how to place them/how many to place in a given section.

Though honestly either way I wouldn't consider spiking to be a complete dealbreaker, especially since in some cases it can be almost impossible to fix. It's still quite enjoyable to drive even with the issues you're talking about ;)

Otherwise, Great work! I'm definitely following the development of this one, it looks quite promising ;) Initially I was expecting some poorly done meshslap, though I can safely say it most certainly isn't. Keep it up! :D

Actually, I know which parts spike (interior carpet and undercarriage in the front, dark/rusty brown and gray materials) and this is more of a problem of node groups rather than node positions. those parts are definitely completely surrounded by nodes, but I haven't quite pinned down the exact place they come from. I think once I do, it'll be clearer. If you determine what is the original location the spiky vertices come from, let me know. I would then look at the surrounding nodes and probably facepalm because of mismatched node groups or something.

I mean still better than the Škoda 1200 with its mighty 36 HP :D and is the hospital in question FN Motol just to take a guess

There's also the joke of the driver saying that the doesn't mind that he's overtaken by a tractor going uphill but the fact that the tractor is ploughing at the same time upsets him quite a bit

I actually like Skoda 1200. I thought that 1203 was worse off but now I can't imagine how Skoda 1200 could crawl up hills at all!

Never heard of FN Motol, the hospital I had in mind is Kramare in Ruzinov city district, BA. A hilly part of the city.

I have been told by one of the former drivers that they liked the 1201 with the 45 HP engine more than the standard 1203 but the 1200 with its 36 HP must really have been problematic especially here in the Vysočina region where there's always some hill that has to be climbed

The FN Motol is actually in Prague 5, I thought you meant the whole of Czech and Slovakia and not just Slovakia

Here is the view of the Hospital from the air

How is the flatbed going along? I didn't espect the model to be done so fast since there are quite a few diferences from the normal 1203

Cool! How about using Polish roads map? It's pretty cool. All seasons, too.

Where did you get skoda 100 from? :O
