As a sideshow relative to their ever-famously luxuriant Burnside Special, a couple of years after to its release, Burnside had developed what was essentially its brokeboi little brother: the Burnside Suit.
    screenshot_2020-07-24_22-10-45.png
The name was a double entendre of sorts: while it was primarily intended to evoke imagery of businessmen in well-fitting, tailored suits that could be worn for both work and just generally spending time outside, the designers of the Suit also had something else in mind; this car was intended to be business-like in a purely practical sense, and so it was not very luxurious, but it was still "Suit-able" for the masses.
    screenshot_2020-07-24_18-15-28.png
After the great success the company had with the Special, they figured that people would eat up the Suit, seeing it as a luxury-brand car engineered for widespread adoption by the "common folk." However, in the decade defined by grandeur, opulence and post-war prosperity in America - as was commonly demonstrated by most cars developed in the 1950s - the Suit, with its significantly smaller trunk and even fuel tank, its pathetic excuse of an engine, and the great liberties its architects had taken with regards to cutting numerous corners with respect to the interior of the Suit, only ended up being portrayed by auto magazine reviews and dissatisfied customers alike as though it were a flat-out antithesis to the zeitgeist of the time, as well as everything which people had loved about American-made cars back then.
    screenshot_2020-07-24_22-10-35.png
Unsurprisingly, for better or worse, the massive loss Burnside suffered both money-wise and reputation-wise ended up being one of the biggest nails in the coffin for them when it came to the decline they had been going through since the previous decade or two, and it is said to this day that, had the idea of the Burnside Suit been scrapped, perhaps Burnside wouldn't have needed to close its doors after it hit rock bottom with Chapter 7 Bankruptcy only a decade or so after the Suit's debut in 1955, like what had happened to Studebaker.

    Features Include:
    • MUCH less chrome!
    • More rounded D-pillar (I wanted to try and make it look like the more basic cars of the 1950s and such so I tried to make it look less fancy or whatever by getting rid of the indent that was present on the D-pillar of the regular Burnside
    • REWORKED INTERIOR! It has that fresh new POVERTY LOOK!
      • No clock!
      • No chrome trim around the whole interior!
      • No "B" logo on front door panels!
      • The weird grate-lookin thing under the radio that I assumed was aircon or a fan atvl is gone, as well as the radio's old preset buttons above it (now it's just a strip of metal!)
      • Matte black (no chromes) gas pedal! Kinda looks like those in my car (in my avatar image, with me beside it lmao) except no ridges even, ngl
      • ONLY TWO GAUGES - the bare essentials: fuel and speed! (I was considering no fuel gauge so that, to check the gas level, you'd have to use the dipstick like the Trabant, but I felt that going that low was too low)
      • No floormats, and body-colored flooring is now just cheap, featureless dark grey carpeting!
      • No passenger-side sunvisor, fender signals, hood ornament, or even trunk ornament (or whatever that chromey thing on the trunk could be considered - maybe a handle for opening it? idk)
    screenshot_2020-07-24_22-12-43.png
    • Dim as hell lights!

    screenshot_2020-07-24_22-11-22.png
    • PLANNED: custom lettering (already done, I'm just trying to get it to render/show in game and the fact that it just won't work is driving me crazy) and weak V8/i6 engine with 3-speed manual NO OVERDRIVE, ported from the Moonhawk!
    • Totally compatible with skins, and any other Burnside parts that don't involve anything behind the backlight!
    • Custom JBEAM nodes! (to avoid being kinda sorta a meshslap ig?)
    screenshot_2020-07-24_19-13-18.png

Things I need help with so I can release ASAP (hopefully very soon!):
    • The pedals and handbrake props are misaligned (as if they were slightly rotated or something), and I have no idea why! They were fine until I edited the JBEAM, and even then, all I did was move the nodes on the regular Burnside Special's rear end so as to accommodate the shrunken trunk of the Suit!
    screenshot_2020-07-24_21-40-59.png
    • I have yet to port the i6 engine and 3speed tranny I want to from the Moonhawk
    • How do I make it so that there's only one exhaust out of which the toxic leaded gasoline fumes come out
    • Weird shading in a handful of places!? (Damn you, Blender!)
    screenshot_2020-07-24_21-37-04.png screenshot_2020-07-24_21-36-50.png

Lemme know what you guys think! This is my first actual vehicle mod (as in, custom 3d model and stuff not like engines or configs lol)

I wanted to do that too but then I realized that if I did, most engines like from other mods or whatever probably wouldn't be compatible, along with other parts like bumpers, radiators. etc., whereas there are very few modded parts for the Burnside Special I know of that affect the rear end

Oh yeah forgot to mention it's not gonna be a standalone vehicle, as I don't think it meets the standard for that, rather it's just gonna be body parts + engines and configs within the BeamNG Burnside Special, with the intention being modularity between the Suit body and Special powertrain components, minus a handful of things like other trunks, exhausts, and rear bumpers, for the most part

    looks great, keep it up
you can move plates by yourself, make a flat mesh in blender and move that mesh in place where license plates are going to be. copy the coordinates and paste them in your licenseplate.jbeam file.

This car does look like a great addition to the rather mysterious lineup of the Burnside Motor Company, and like the others i would say keep it up. But there is just one little thing and this is entirely my two cents, the "weird grate-looking thing" is what I would believe to be the speaker for the radio(most 1950's and prior cars had only one speaker mounted just under the radio) as the special does not have a/c either weather that be factory or aftermarket. here are some examples.

Oooooh okay, so do you think I should add it back or just remove the radio too? I'm not entirely sure if radio had become totally standard in regular sedans at the time by then, so I've considered it but only hesitantly lol

it really only became standard in the late '50s early '60s however it was a very popular option all the way in the mid '50s so its is not out of place

I think Burnside is actually a division of Bruckell but I can't remember

According to the Wiki.. "It is also known that Gavril's luxury subsidiary Burnside[1] was founded in 1953".
    You were close though.

Many basic cars had only a grated plate on the dash, so if a radio is installed there is a place to put the speacker. also base model cars had a full cloth interior, not the fancy patterned leather that the burnside has.
