Hey all, I'm asking this here because this is a smaller forum. And I'm not going to be able to reply tomorrow. So, with that our of the way, here goes. The budget is $820 and I want either new or new last gen parts. (3770, 680, no 6790 parts unless its a great deal) I kinda have the case and PSU picked out , 550d, and 850w gold something. (It costs $150) and I'm looking at a h100i cooler but that can change if I don't need it. Needs to have an unlocked processor, but no screen or anything. It's just the box. It's not a huge deal, I'm just considering it right now, it would be a late summer build. Best performance at $820 max.
Prowl eBay a bit. Good deals on used parts crop up from time to time, I got lucky and managed to snag an i7 2600k and an ASUS P8P67 Pro for about $250. Using RivaTuner to create better (tornado in my room) fan profiles, my GTX 260 black still chews down everything I throw at it (with the exception of FC3:BD, ofc) on maximum settings without complaint.
You can find a build to suit your budget here. Since you already kinda have a case and a PSU, go for an i5 4670K if you have an 1150 socket, or an i5 3570K if you have 1155. But if you prefer to pick and choose, go here. The site also checks for compatibility between parts, so it's great if you want to find out what fits with what.
Hard drive? I added an SSD, if you either need a hard drive, get a hard drive instead, but you can also spend that money to get a better graphics card (GTX770) or wait for the GTX760ti. CPU - Intel 4670k Motherboard - Asus Z87-K RAM - 8GB(1x8) 1600 Ripjaws Graphics card - GTX660ti SSD - OCZ Vertex 4 128GB Total is $859.95 without shipping. You could get a 60GB SSD or none at all, because it's only good for boot. But with such a rig (the i5) you would want a nice and powerful GPU, the 660ti is the minimum for the 4670k
Got a 1TB HDD and even though it's a 3GB/s it's plenty fast. Has 154 Gb filled. Would probably get a SSD for boot. And I might go used for some stuff. I think a hd 7950 is minimum.
OH! By "have" I mean that's what I want, a 550d and a h100i. I don't own them. Oops. So far I have hd 7930, i5 3570k, no mobo yet, h100i, 550d, a 80GB HDD, and 2x 4GB RAM. Still finding deals on it for pricing estimates.
If your budget is $800 for the whole thing, then don't bother getting a h100. Do you need windows? And whats your current PC anyway?
Why are you getting a new computer, if you already have parts? You could just get a better graphics card and it would be fine.
Not much, might get a SSD and a new HD 7950. Wondering how to fit a 1080p monitor in there. Have a budget of 310 for just the card/SSD/monitor in that situation. For a whole PC it's 820.

The i7 860 is still a decent CPU. I would keep your PC but upgrade the case, cooler, GPU, and PSU to a modular one.
A10's have graphics built in, so you don't need a graphics card. I seriously do have that exact system except with Windows 7, and it is what I am using to type this.
And mobo. Mine is stock OEM crap. :| Already got a (near) modular PSU, HIVE 550, I would recommend it. I have a limited budget with that though, $310, I was getting $500 for selling it. We shall see.
You're seriously expecting him to go with an integrated GPU? I don't think you should be recommending PCs to people anymore.
