Figured I'd just post my thoughts on the update now that I've played with it a bit... Yes, this is not really speculation, but this thread does function as the general discussion thread and I don't want to get in the way of the bug reports on the 0.20 discussion thread.

I like the face lift itself; I think it's perfect for an early 2000's SUV. I especially love the facelift cowl hood. However, I feel like it's just too upscale for Gavril with that big chrome grille and softer lines. Personally I would've put it under a luxury marque and skipped the lower spec trims. Luxury trucks in the early 2000's had an interesting culture that would be great to see in game; it would be nice to see more (sometimes regrettable) car culture niches get representation. The difference is more or less only in name, so whatever I guess...

I also love the Belasco PD config.

I am worried we may never see an official late 1990's Charro/2 door Roamer now that work on the Roamer has wrapped up for the time, as per the devblog. I know up until a few months ago I didn't see a point in it, but the idea's grown on me a lot. Only time will tell I guess, but I think it's safe to say there won't be one in the near future.

I really love the feel of the map now. It use to be one I rarely used, but there's a lot to like here. The banked turn is a feature long overdue in an official map (yes there is one on Automation, but it's tiny), and the container playground is a lot of fun. Me being me, I really wish there was a cargo ship and/or train tracks to complete the atmosphere.

My only real issue with it is that the trees and some of the assets in the container area tend to eat cars... Some collisions there definitely need to be looked at.

I gotta say, this container area really makes me wish the crawlers had AWS and a dig transmission.

Of course the Gavril frame and i6 updates are well appreciated.

I am very happy to see the Barstow get the Bluebuck's engines now. Having the new carb options is great, though the Moonhawk's and '53 Special's stand out just that much more now.

The square wheel options are greatly appreciated. I love seeing those little physics toys like that, and it's a simple way to have fun in Beam and take advantage of the features that make the game special.

Now that we have the 40' conex my mind is going to all sorts of BeamNG.Conex ideas... Different conex sizes and trailers for them (a good use for a hypothetical fifth wheel D/H-Series) and so on.

Then there's the weird stuff that snuck it's way into the parts selector. Some D-Series beds have an empty bedliner slot, the 800-Series bumpers have an empty slot for a lip

The water physics make me want some paddle tires for the Hopper

Does the Gavril I6 now how performance parts? I didn’t see it in the changelog, so I guess it’s a bit of a silly question. Hotfix conversion van, perhaps?

Since a D series Facelift is in the works. I hope that means we will be getting options for new door cards, door mirrors, door handles, and dashboards. Really make the pre facelift really feel like a prefacelift like we complained about before 0.19 was released.

    Sadly no.

It sucks because in my personal opinion, the 4.1 I6 is the 2nd best modern Gavril motor, with the 5.5 being the best.

Yes, it does. You can now add a fuel-injected intake and a late ECU to the engine to gain 22 horsepower, from 165 to 187. screenshot_2020-08-06_08-04-21.jpg

It's not much, but it's something.

    >more interior options
    >different doors

It didn't happen for the Roamer (as far as I know); I doubt it'll happen for the D-Series, as much as it needs more differentiation between the different versions.

It probably wouldn't be hard to make a newer-gen vanilla D-Series based on the pre-facelift Roamer since that has been done multiple times before by modders, especially if those parts hints that happening. It might just be a newer-style refresh based on the already existing body, such as a more recent dashboard (the dash itself is already a selectable part in the configurator) along with the seats and lights.

Inb4 facelift roamer parts and split tailgate for a d-series blackwood. the taillights on the facelift roamer already reminds me of it.

Tbh, I thought this update would have more features, but I'm sure they'll add those later. I was really looking to the West Coast USA thing. Oh well, maybe this will be like 0.18 or whatever.

On another note. The new Roamer facelift is really cool.

Now for sure, the H will get a 2000s facelift, but an older model would be very nice, since some of us like that older/ kinda squarer feel, D-series got an older model, why not the H?

I know, right? Also, what about a 60's H-series and D-series. About 5 or so years older then AR162B's mod?

When i think about it, i would prefer pre-restyle/facelift models of some already existing car than a new one.

The Roamer face-lift made the vehicle itself look more luxurious. I think an air-suspension system, a moonroof, and traction control on the top-end trims would complement it well.

Those have been on all cars for years, and are explicitly for modded parts that don't fit under any existing slot.

From the Port Remaster video. Call me crazy, but doesn't the Bolide look a bit different? Can't quite pick out what it is exactly.

It isn't the new front end of the D Series that looks off, but the sides that remain unchanged since 2013. Here's a quick mockup of what the devs should do if they plan to add a restyling to it.
(open it to watch it better)
Notice how the superior line that runs across the entire side is deleted, and the body gets rounder like early 2000s Silverados. Some little changes (like the extended front bumper, modified taillights, bigger wheel arches, and black undercoat) are really welcome too.
I hope devs read this comment and take note before it gets released, as it seems that the truck isn't finished yet..
