Has the BeamNG.drive team ever thought of giving the engines in the game proper naming like we've got in real life (which I guess is similar to chassis code names for cars)? Like, for example, you have a 1.6L I4, and a 2.0L I4, or a 2.0L I6, for example. In real life, it's not exactly just that. There's loads of different inline fours and sixes. Toyota 4A-GEU, Nissan SR20DET, Nissan RB26DETT, Toyota 1JZ, Toyota 2JZ, Nissan CA18DET, etc. Maybe for newbies or people who don't know engines these engines in the parts selector or garage could be given a subtitle, so like for example, a Pessima could have an Ibishu 4B-HFV engine (just making something up here), and as a subtitle or something, it'd say it's a 2.0L I4.
I actually did something like this a while ago, for both cars and engines, but it hasn't been updated in three years, and to be fair, it doesn't really work for the American cars. I could update it, if anyone's interested.

Cool! Regarding the Hirochis, I have two things to say- A. you got SBR and Sunburst powertrains mixed up B. I made my own chassis chart fot Hirochi a while ago, and (no offense) it seems a bit more straitforward-
I like the idea of the 80s-90s ibishu I4 engines going off "redtop" "silvertop" "blacktop" etc. it's similar to some IRL variants, and not too convoluted. I feel like you should elaborate on the gavril utility chassis codes, after all, with platform sharing and different generations, it makes sense to make them all similar, but different. I suggest having the first digit be the generation, and the secon be approximately the size/weight class in order. so GTP410,420, and 430 are for the charro, pre-facelift D15, and D25-35 respectively, and GTP440 and 450 would be for an 80's H Vanster and H Cabster respectively, if it existed. then GTP510,520, and 530 for the Roamer, mid D15, and mid D25-35, and GTP540,550 for the vanilla Vanster and Cabster. then for the late 90's/2000s facelifts, GTP610,620,etc... you could also maybe say the T series is something like a GTP290, but I think it's mechanically far enough removed it's best to keep it separate.
The devs don't seem to be particularly interested in fleshing out the beamng lore, we only ever get small tidbits... But there is a thread on this exact topic, I just forgot the name.
They've been getting better at it with the newer content. We got our first named platform in April, Civetta and Autobello both had their founders named in 0.15, and Gavril/Burnside has been getting lots of stuff (named engines (even if we still don't know what's the story with the Burnside's mystery big block), the RS line, the Marshall line, and Pete Burnside JR's race car)
