THIS MOD HAS JUST BEEN STARTED AND WIP (Start date: 2020-09-13) The Hirochi TL45 is a vehicle model of the Infiniti QX60. This is my very first mod that I will be attempting. As of now, I am on the modeling stage. This is a very new project At this time, I don't know when I will complete it, hopefully I will be able to complete this mod in a 1-3 month period since I will be starting school. Created by CRGZ Here are some pictures of my progress: I do have some questions though: Why when I create a mesh with 3-4 vertices, the mesh's shading is off and broken? (I checked that there were no duplicate vertices and know of only one way of fixing it: manually flipping most to all meshes to fit the shading of the one broken mesh). How do I make separable entities such as the hood, trunk, doors, etc? How do I make the grill of this thing since its all wavy lines and stuff How do I make the head and tail lights? I will also need help with: - Jbeam - Configs, - Texture (maybe) Otherwise, I feel like I'm doing pretty good. Please feel free to leave comments such as suggestions, constructive criticism, etc. Thank you - CRGZ UPDATE (2020-09-14 [One day after pictures above]):
oh wow, the model actually looks good and the topology or whatever i forgot it's not that bad, but you should really fix the unnecessary vertices on the hood, also sorry idk how to fix any of those problems
The vertices on the hood have minor details. They lift up from the middle just a bit to fit the actual car. It may look useless but the details there.
Hi, great work! I have some criticism; I think you might have edge looped this section a bit too much Also, the topology needs to flow which I can see is not in many places. I circled a few areas that doesn't have much flow to it. Here is an example of an area that doesn't flow too well; Otherwise, I really like it and I hope it manages to get in game! Great job
Ah yes again as I said to another comment "The vertices on the hood have minor details. They lift up from the middle just a bit to fit the actual car. It may look useless but the details there." But ill try to fix it if I can, Thank you!
Let me tell you something a lot of people doesn't know, in games the models aren't as detailed as the real car, so details like this are ignored due to the use of unnecessary vertices, you should remove them even if it's a detail from the car, because in reality nobody will actually notice this detail due to the game illumination, especially in beamng that it's a game about crashes, minor details will only make the model heavier, i'm sorry if i messed up the english
Oh damn ok that makes more sense. Though may I ask, If this model is imported into the game, will it really matter if there are more/less vertices in places or does it have an affect on the model?
iirc the model with more vertices is heavier and may cause instability in the game, your case it's not really a problem, but this detail may cause some weird black shadows in the hood
Theres some pretty poo poo fart use cases of edge loop spam here and there which need work, but otherwise its looking good. what sort of engine options are you thinking of
Ah, now I see it. Also, I accidentally duplicated the image in the post I originally wrote. Make sure to check it again, I added the image I wanted to add
as I said to another comment "The vertices on the hood have minor details. They lift up from the middle just a bit to fit the actual car. It may look useless but the details there." But ill try to fix it if I can. Ill try to get the main engine as a 3.2L or 3.5L V6. There will be other engine types so don't worry.
ah yes sorry about that. The blueprints barely lined up so when seeing it from the right and back side, its different, so I had to eye it out and do it manually. Again my bad ill try to fix it.
