I still play Ug2 to these days. The cars i build there are insane. I just wish i could Mod something to participate, i just LOVE 2000's car culture

 

the issue with the post is "I would love to join in I’m just banned from the discord and have 0 idea why"

Modding Challenge Results

It has been a while.
We planned to announce the winners before the update but had to postpone it. Apologies for the long wait.

First of all, thanks for the entries, you really amazed us with your sound systems, lights and other awesome tricks.
We don’t have a video for you this time around so let me walk you through the entries and their feedback.
A quick overview, in no particular order:

Pessima Xtreme Widebody

A mod with new lights and a bodykit for the Pessima.
We loved the hood design but it had numerous flaws, including overwriting and breaking vanilla content. We also argued about the timeframe in which the angel eyes appeared. Which is around 2000 on BMW’s.

2000s Tuner Pessima

A proper showcar based on the new Pessima.
The fake parts, bodykit, and overall quality were appreciated by the reviewers. We had some remarks about the texture issue, and the jbeam, and repo page quality, which was a bit basic. But overall, a very good 2000’s tuner mod! It really captures the feel of the 2000’s. We also appreciated the simple but effective descriptions.

Ibishu 2000 Tuning

A very uniquely tuned Hatch with a lot of power and AWD. It rocks Vivace’s engine and drivetrain and a lot of lights. So many lights that it actually lags the game for us. The subwoofer and wheels are very cool and even though the jbeam and materials could use some work, we really liked this entry.

The Furiously Slow

A pack that pokes fun at the F&F cars with their 200 gears and expensive tuning options.
This pack has none of that, some parody skins, a subwoofer and a lot of fake and slow cars.
We do think that the execution of this idea holds it back; the skins and parts are a bit meh and we believe it doesn’t really capture the flashy 2000’s tuning.

Odinus Custom Legran

A magazine cover, sick bodykit and ditto wheels. Letsss goo!
According to one of the reviewers, I quote: ‘That super bass boosted track had me in tears - sub under my desk, as well as everything on the desk cried as well`.
We believe this mod really captured the spirit of the challenge and had great execution. The model has its shading and texture issues and the jbeam could have used some polishing. But those things aside, this could have been part of NFS U2.

Showboat 2000s Custom Legran

I hope this hasn’t cost you too many grades at school. The amount of work that went into this is amazing, even for a duo. The custom radio features and the design of both the interior and exterior is mind blowing.
But again, it’s not only love from us: The deformation of the custom parts and the interior is wonky at best. It really likes to spike. There were other Jbeam and texture issues as well but I promised to keep this short.
Overall, a very detailed and well made mod but could have used some more time to polish.

I definitely agree with the winners, I hope for them to get more improvements in the future and make sure they don't get lost to time after BeamNG updates breaking them.

I‘ll make sure to keep everything in a working condition. The Tuner LeGran will also have an update coming out soon as I did add some things while the mods were reviewed (would have been unfair to the others to add more stuff to the car after the deadline)

Don’t forget MGR! He did huge work for this as well, as in making the whole model and most the textures, the baddy music and even a blender animation that got uploaded to YouTube (which may or may not also have shown another project we were planning, though the time factor wasn’t there for that so that may come later)
