What’s your job? Or if you don’t have one yet, what do you want to do?

My dad owns a body shop, so it only makes sense for me to work for him and probably take over the business someday. I recently started full time now that I’m out of school, but I have been going down there on days off and summer break since I was about 10.

I know it sounds weird for students of top universities to be unsure of their choices, but I am actually not sure whether my future in data science is something I should aspire to. I'm mainly not sure because since I am at a business school, what we're learning is still closer to general business stuff than our later major-specific education.

To be honest, the only thing keeping me on this track is the money - graduates from my university can end up making over 3x, and sometimes 4x, the median salary by the time they're 50, and the entry-level salaries are at median and higher level.

If this doesn't work out, I might try American studies, which would still get me 60% or so of what I would otherwise earn (at least in early career), but is harder to to find a job with.

Leaching because I'm a worthless employee and care too much about others rather than myself to have useful employment.
Bookwork for blue collar work sure I can do but actual work nope and I'm too stupid for realistic white collar work.
I made it 5 years since high school, lets see how it goes.

i used to work for a equipment hiring store, like Kennards (where you get things like cherry pickers, large trailers etc) but it was run by just this one old guy, i was just walking by and i noticed him out the front of his store and i commented on the weather, and some how i ended up working for the guy for a few months, it was good easy money, early start though but i didn't care, afterall i was just standing around operating scissor lifts and cranes to would be hire-ers, the old guy did the paperwork and salesman stuff, then i did the cleaning which was barely anything because we just kepts things tidy as we went along except when some fella decided to not clean the mud off the trailer when he returned it, and it was always dried, not fun to clean off, then the pay was peach, i was getting nearly getting double the amount of what my friends were getting for half the hours, i didn't ask how he had the money to pay me so well but thats a personal thing or whatever so yeah, then the virus happened, at first we were watching on the small TV he had in the kitchenette and joking about Toyota Coronas then it got real bad and he shut down, oh well fun times while they lasted. Otherwise i would've like to have been motor journalist but thats not a very secure thing for the future what with driverless stuff and what not, or open up my own Service Station, not some pesky petrol station but the kind where 3 people come out and fill the tank, clean the windshield and check your oil and those sort of small things, and with the (albeit slow) push towards electric cars there still be people who'll need that gas for their classics and ill be there to cater for that, but i dont think earth has much more oil anymore so thats not even viable, otherwise absolutely no clue except for slight leaning towards the police
