recently bought one of my dream cars , a REV 4 mr2 NA wanted one of these for years , found this one for only 1800 and bought it , has some kind of exhaust not sure on make and a decat, K&N intake , lowering springs and some enkii RPF1 (noise warning for video lol)
Yesterday a wild marten chewed trhough a gound cable and a vacuum hose on my Caprice which left it running rather poorly. He even nibbled on the spark plug wire boots! That furry bastard did cost me my lunch brake fixing that shit out on the shop parking lot. Also today my battery died so I needed a jump start from a co worker and had to shell out 90 bucks for a new one. #justoldcarthings

My old Ford Escort is as ready for the junkyard as it's going to get. No oil, no coolant, not enough gas for a siphon pump to suck on. Kind of sad, in a way. I went a lot of places and did a lot of things in that car, and even knowing how much was wrong with it, and how the interior smells like cigarette smoke, and how I know I'd never have the time or inclination to cut out and weld in a new, non-rusty shock tower, and how nothing about a 1996 Ford Escort is worth restoring anyway... I'm gonna miss it.

Today I had to replace the rear brakes on my Caprice because the brake lining fell off of one brake shoe and got wedged between the shoe and drum causing the drum to overheat and warp and eventually the wheel to lock up. So I had to replace the rear brake drums, wheel cylinders, shoes, springs, adjusters and the rear right brake line because it was rusty as fuck and snapped while I tried to get the fitting out of the wheel cylinder. After all this was done I had a hell of a bad time trying to bleed the air out of the system because the proportioning valve got stuck and blocked brake fluid to the rear brakes. After hours of screwing around with the proportioning valve it finally got unstuck and I managed to get fluid to the rear brakes. In the end I had to bleed the system three god damn times to get all the air out and it took nearly a whole day and a gallon of brake fluid to do this.
yikes. i took the chain guard off my impossible bike today. it kept hitting the chain so i just took it off. anyone want a chrome one size fits all chrome 50's chain guard?
I bought an 08 Kia Optima for $1400. It's in decent shape. The biggest issue is this rattle/vibration. It isn't present in park/neutral except ever so slightly when you blip the throttle. As soon as you put it in drive/reverse it starts vibrating and making noise. Rattles the loudest when accelerating from a stop. I took the accessory belt off and the noise went away. It seems like the issue is the tensioner pulley. It's shaking around and seems to be the source of the noise. I ordered a new one for $90, hoping I've made the right call.
This is my base model 2008 Kia Optima. I was looking for the cheapest simplest Asian FWD 4 door beater I could find. This one fit the bill. 183k miles but it's a pretty straight car. Doesn't seem like its really been abused or fucked up. The previous owner was seriously slacking on maintenance before they let it sit under a tree for a year so mice could nest in it. To get it back up to snuff I've replaced the belt tensioner, spark plugs, fuel filter, engine and cabin air filters, oil, power steering fluid, brake fluid, and ATF. I also had to adjust the handbrake for the skidz. Today I replaced the driver door speaker and interior handle. People keep telling me its ugly but I like it. This car is simplicity in every aspect. It drives very smooth, blends in with traffic, sips gas, and does crazy handbrake slides.
