One big issue of democracy is that the majority is dumb. They would only want supercars and hypercars and monster trucks and dragsters with ridiculously big V8s and wouldn't even care if it's realistic or not. This is not the purpose of this game.

Well, all this things can be, and some have been, done realistically in Beam

what use do they have besides going fast, what else can you do with them?

    Hardly anything.
you need cars that can do multiple types of things.

The issue isn't that we would have just an example or two of such vehicles, rather that game design would be sacraficed in favor of all resulting content being such vehicle types.

I doubt realism is the main focus when we can easily get such uncommon things like an 80s 3-wheeler or a 60s Japanese family sedan.

There's probably more high-performance vehicles than that out there in 2020.

So why do we have racecars if they can't be driven offroad? Why do we have rock crawlers that aren't good on a track? Why do we have trucks that can only haul trailers well?

he never said anything about realism. he said game design. as in
supercars aren't necessarily one sided though. take the huracan for example, you could have normal road-going versions and slightly sportier trims, but also a super trofeo style GT3 car, and some sort of liberty walk twin-turboed version.
at this point, that's more variance than a decent bunch of the existing vanilla cars have.

thats the thing, the only semi sensible ''supercar'' i could see in beamng would be something based on a gallardo but it still seems to be a bit too onesided.

By your logic we shouldn't have trucks, because they are one-sided towards carrying heavy loads.

you do know you can have different upfits and trailers for said trucks, seems like your brain is too one sided :p

Honestly I don't see an issue with niche vehicles. I'd love something like a stocker or a rail drag car (from any era) since a single vehicle like that would create an entire class of racing.

IMO we actively need a modern supercar. It's not like it's that odd to have high end performance cars in a car game, modern ones are perfect for showing off the more advance features for active & electronic systems, and we honestly just need end game content. At the moment the end game cars we have are the Bolide, SBR, and K-Series. In other words, a 40 year old budget supercar and a pair of mid-life crisis mid-market sports cars which are both over 5 years old.

what about a mid 2000s american performance sports car, there arent any of those in the game and it does have alot of part options. thats like one of the most logic choices though
Mustang, challenger, camaro or a viper and corvette

You can do high-speed driving in various locations and conditions, potentially completely changing the experience.

*Looks at my sig* I wouldn't turn down the option to have an analog to my IRL car

Well this is turning into the vehicle suggestion thread now, but I'd say that's a different niche which also needs to be filled. It checks a lot of boxes that we need: Modern car with retro styling, 2000's car, modern(ish) American car, highly customizable, options for multiple facelifts, every day base models with top end models that can be supercar killers... Still wouldn't call one end game content though, for the same reasons I refuse to call the K-Series and SBR end game.

Yeye cause having a "supercar" would be too grindy for the game and not "worth your monies"

Having endgame content is standard in games.

There could also be a sedan, wagon, and crossovee built on the same platform, which could fill the need for a modern American police car and various other roles. They should build more platforms like the FCV where they share mechanicals. This would speed up development time and allow them to bolster the vehicle list with less development time.
