I'm totally open to modding -- there's a lot of versions of this truck I have no desire to make myself; busses, garbage trucks, moving trucks, milk trucks, cranes, log trucks, livestock haulers, yard dogs, snow plows, dump trucks, race trucks (obv not stock), etc. etc. etc., all with various powertrain options and cab options, I'll just cover the basics. If someone wants to delve into the rabbit hole of International powertrain options, it's fair game.

So one of the Loadstar's big selling points was it's super compact design, that meant a low-slung engine that sat half under the cab and nosed right up to the radiator. The brave souls trying to make Cummins swaps with these old trucks have to cut out a doghouse that almost butts right into the stock bench seat, so I seriously doubt a V-12 anything will be attached to this truck without a frame extension, which tbh I'd love to see done anyways.

I’m sure it would fit, we’d just have to find a way to do it :)

Would it be possible to mod in like a 5.9 Cummins or a CAT 3208 or something like that? Those were common in trucks of similar duty and still are today. You could also try a DT466 engine that international made for the S1900 and other models afterwards

In various years/models they were available with the Detroit 6V53, IHC DV-462, IHC D-150, IHC DV-550B, IHC D-170, and Perkins D-354 -- all diesels. But yes, it would certainly be possible.

This is my favorite truck in snow runner and it will be amazing to have it in BeamNG.Drive. I cannot wait for this truck.

Me again. I know some places you might be able to get Diesel engine sounds from. I have game files for American Truck Simulator and Farming Simulator 19 that might work since you said you don't want to take sounds from YouTube videos.

The offer is certainly appreciated, but I don't really want any un-original elements in this mod. That said, I'm helping an uncle put an old Detroit in his grader and I may have found a Kenworth cabover up the road with a Perkins diesel, I'll see if I can borrow either of them for a day (if they even run by then). No guarantees, but there's a small possibility of diesel engines coming with the mod.

Unfortunately I've been spending more time trying to get things winterized (it's already snowed a foot) and finding a new job for the winter than working on this mod, but it's still a priority of mine.

Life first, then BeamNG mods. Keep up the good work and I hope you find a job for the winter!

Would be pretty cool, I would also suggest, after finishing the main part of the mod, to try out making the cabover version, with the same motor position and motor choices as, I think, they were technically based on the same frame.

IHC made everything from light Scouts to heavy semis and were most famous for their tractors and farm implements.
Not super likely. I hate busses with a passion. I'm totally open to someone modding a bus out of this though.
The COE Loadstar uses a completely different cab, so I doubt it. Might consider it though, some resources could be reused.

Progress is still slow on this btw, I haven't given up though.

Because they’re ugly as sin. Because they’re slow as hell and impede traffic. Because we were absolutely inundated with busses on the RoR forums. Because bus fans.
