Hey guys I was wondering what you thought of the new modifications available and the added control to the car to test it I went fast. Really fast.
Mine loses stability after going past 320 km/h (200 mph), presumably because of wheel buffeting which slows the car down cutting the speed down by a half. That's an obvious front suspension design flaw.
I really enjoy driving the Civetta now. It grips much better and is fun to drive, It can still be a handful at times but I would assume most 80's V8 mid engine super cars would handle similar to the Civetta.
The best I have done is 197mph but I had to slow the game down to 70% because I am using an Xbox 360 controller does that count?
I decided to give it a go and it didn't take more than a minute for it to hit 200MPH. Pretty damn fast car.
the hell were you doing to need 70% game speed on controller? I've hit 203mph with keyboard and then it span out, reached exact same with controller.
Sorry this includes my second monitor on it but I did reach 202mph before I spun out after I took this screen shot
It still has the handling characteristics of a shopping cart on an ice rink. But I do appreciate that there is *slightly* less of a tendency to spear off in a random direction while driving in a perfectly straight line.
The default speedometers in-game all display WHEEL speed. That means your wheels could just be spinning at 200 km/h, but your car is going 150 km/h.
It's great now at lower speeds, but you start getting up past 130/140kmh and it gets really skatey, hope you guys are able to fix up the tires a bit more so they don't get so loose at higher speeds.
Ummm, this is how REAL speedometers work? As long as you haven't lost grip they'll be accurate. Why, how'd you think they work? Do you have an anemometer behind your grille that measures wind speed? No, that'd be susceptible to changes in ambient wind speed. And the car has a really nasty tendency to understeer below 60 MPH and start oversteering above that point.
I think a spoiler and/or other aerodynamic parts would be a good option to improve the driveability at higher speeds. I remember the spoiler mod for the civetta before the update greatly increased the driveability above 70 mph.
Yes, there are some problems with high speed stability (possibly aero related), but the car handles very well otherwise. If you think it handles like "a shopping cart on an ice rink", maybe you should play some arcade racers instead, if you think a realistic grip level is "ice."
