Beamng keeps resetting to default settings.... every single time I launch it.

I don't know if this is just a me problem, but for the past two weeks, beamng has continued to reset my settings to the factory defaults every time I open it. I don't know what I would have done to cause it, but I would really like some help here.

 

Are you using a third party anti virus? Sounds like something may block it from settings properly.

 

I had the same problem, tried everything, but couldn't fix it.. then I built a new desktop and it was fixed, if everything else fails, try reinstalling windows. Bit it sounds like beamng is getting denied to change files, maybe make a clean reinstall, look at security antivirus settings...

 

Im using malware bytes, but I’ve been using it for a year now. And this problem has just started. I don’t think my antivirus is causing the problem.

 

Might be a bit off-topic, but third-party anti-virus software is useless at this point imo. The Windows Defender is good enough by now and any other anti-virus software just takes CPU and RAM.

 

no, not really. Windows defender failed to detect over 50 viruses on my system, I know because I scanned windows defender fully, then I downloaded malware bytes and it grabbed 50 more virus modules, the most prominent being chromium.

 

Then I guess avira is crap because it never shows anything being found.

It sounds more like adware which malware bytes is good at but it isn't harmful. And it really only happens when you download sketchy stuff.

nah it’s cause I hadn’t done a scan with malware bytes in 2 and a half years. So I probably accidentally clicked a shit ad or something

 

Chromium is just a stripped down chrome browser lots of browsers I think even edge use it as a basis, yeah u don't need more than malwarebytes to scan once a week, but always active antivirus is not good

 

yes thats what chromium is, but what people do is inject virus shit in it and adware. its not a base for a web browser anymore its adware 99% of the time.
