So I've been modeling a car for a while (in max) (still WIP) and I tried exporting to the game. But it seems that every time I try to open (I only replaced the body of the moonhawk) the car it crashes the game. Then I tried re-exporting the moonhawk and using that and it also crashed to desktop. I'm thinking it could be that I'm using the student version of max. Anyone having the same problem?
EDIT: I can open the model through the editor (not car just static model)
EDIT 2: Works after I started using opencollada.

Nice post Calais but there is no answer in the wiki for this problem.

did your car folder contain an underscore like "VW_Golf" or "Bmw_i825" ?

cause with underscore "_" the game cannot load the car. try to delete it for having a name folder like "VWgolf" or "BMWi825" (without "")

Thanks Doom, I'm away from home for a while but I'll try that when I get back. I think that's not it though, because when I re-export the bruckell moonhawk without changing anything it still crashes. I think it must be something in the export settings or maybe because I'm using student edition of 3ds max which leaves an imprint on the files created.

It doesnt matter if you are using the student version of max, its probably some files that don't connect up.

Although I see where you are coming from. All I did was open the moonhawk .dea file, not edit anything, and re export it to replace the original file. I did however get two warnings upon opening the file:
    Code:
While reading or writing a file the following notifications have been raised.
-Warning: A <material> element with type "blinn" is converted to Phong material.
-Warning: The transform of node "" is not compatible with FBX, so it is baked into TRS.
and two upon the exporting of the file:
    Code:
While reading or writing a file the following notifications have been raised.
-Warning: Null not supported by COLLADA. Node EnvironmentAmbientLight will lose its geometric information. The node transforms will be saved.
-Warning: Null not supported by COLLADA. Node moonhawk_shifterbase will lose its geometric information. The node transforms will be saved.
which could have been the cause of the malfunction. There is no underscore in the name of the folder by the way.

EDIT: disregard seems to work after the new update.
EDIT2: Disregard other edit, made a mistake replacing files. Now thinking it could be the nulls causing problems.
    EDIT3: Fixed, started using opencollada.
