Hi! With the launch of the new consoles, do you think they would be able to run BeamNG.drive? The GPU is about equivalent to a RX 570/580, and the CPU is a 8 core 7nm Zen 2 based chip, it might be possible to port BeamNG over to one of the consoles. If the Engine (Torque3D) doesn't allow this, they'd probably need to make the Console version based on a different engine, like the way Minecraft did it. It could be a possibility in the future!

i dont think that playstation support will be a thing but since the xbox series x controller is the same as the xbox one controller i think it could be a possibility in the future to have xbox series x support

Please use the search function before making a new thread. This has been asked countless times. The game is still in development and the devs have stated that there are no current plans to port the game to any platform other than windows.

Adding onto the above... At this point the limiting factor might not be performance, but just the raw development recources. It's not like they can just change 3 lines of code to get the thing running on a PlayStation, we are talking about a massive financial and manhours dump. The idea of commiting to that when the game isn't even it beta is just not feasible. Engine ports are no small feat even on the most basic of games, we are talking perhaps multiple years of completely dedicating the entire team to port a game as technically complicated as BeamNG.

This discussion just isn't even worth having until we are approaching version full release 1.0, but we aren't even in beta yet

At this point it's probably the same as with how we don't have Mac or Linux versions of Beam - it's close enough to PC, but it would be too much work for the dev team.

I think even the previous gen could run BeamNG - but the devs could not do it.

Theoretically Xbox support is possible cause it’s a modified version of windows, but from what I hear it’s *heavily* modified. And it’s not like this is Ubisoft or turn10 making BeamNG, this is a small German dev company. They probably don’t have the time money or resources to do this.

The game would have to be sooo dumbed down, controls wise, because in a desktop/laptop, you can attach almost any electronic device and beamng will register it as a control. Yea. And doing that with a console, I dont think the consoles support that. And even the basic controls for beam won't fit on an xbox or a PS1/2/3/4/5 controller.

Controls is a non-issue. It's easy to get the necessities on a standard gamepad. I easily have everything I need mapped on my DS4. Stuff like hydraulics could be solved with a better UI, which we need whether we get a console port or not. Advanced things wouldn't need to be in a console port too; no one should be using the hypothetical console version to develop a mod. With a console port necessitating a console-optomized UI and some consoles allowing a USB keyboard/mouse anyway, there just isn't anything to worry about with controls from a user perspective.
