So I see in-game that the career mode is coming soon. Does anyone actually know what kind of gaming experience we can get from that? I have been driving Beamng on and off since it came out, and while I do enjoy the driving physics and crash physics, the game obviously lacks in terms of having an actual game with any meaning or consequences. The part I am having most fun with is the cop chase scenarios, so I think this game would benefit of having a "The Driver" Career mode: - You can chose the years: A more 1970 style Chicago or more modern age where every car is available. - You work as a driver in a sandbox city: that has both a desert, countryside and city. - You live in a small apartment that you rent under a false name. - You will have to pay for food and rent, so money income is important. - You get various assignments through phone calls through your trusted agent or your laptop (depending on the time era you have chosen). The clock is always ticking, so you will have to plan when to start preparing for each mission. You can pause or fast forward time when not driving. The game auto saves when you reach your safe house or when you reach the mission location. Restarting with "R" is not allowed in this career mode. Only time "R" restarting is allowed is when you are on an escape mission from the cops (so it won't be too tedious) - For every job, you will have to steal a car or use the same car (if it's repainted and has new plates). Since you can't walk about in the game, you will get the option which car to steal and where, and once you have chosen you will have to drive the car away from the location and to your garage. Better not damage it! - Cars needs gas! So sometimes after you have stolen a car you need to fill it up. Also make sure it's filled before your mission. - After you have disposed of the police by either making them crash or running away from them, you will have to drive the bank robbers to the escape zone, where you will receive your part of the reward. - You will have to dispose of the car in a garbage place that has machines that can crush cars. Or you can keep it, but then you will have to repaint it and give it new license plates (will cost you more money). - Any damage done to the car in the game you will have to get fixed at an auto shop, and the costs are like in real life. So you better treat your vehicles good. Or you can dispose of them and save money by stealing cars. - Any car you steal can have some damages or wear and tear to them from before, so you better test them before each mission. - Money for rent and food is paid automatically and every penny you spend on cars or rent you will see in your budget book in your safe house. - You also have a map of the city on your wall where you can draw and make notes on as you go. There is no auto-map in game, so if you don't know the city well and where the locations are, you will need to study them on your map. This way each mission will be more interesting and your planning is equal important as the mission itself. So before each mission you will get a phone call describing what kind of car you need, and when and where you will need to be. If you don't make it on time you will get less phone calls / missions until eventually you are out of business or someone knocks on your door and kills you (angry bank robbers). As a fun resolution to make some extra income, you can work as a taxi driver or limousine driver. I hope you like this idea of a Career mode. Any ideas or suggestions to this is also appreciated. You have made the physics, now make a cool game!
