Ive always been dissatisfied with BeamNG's engine sounds, so I took it upon myself to remake them. For now it is only for about 19 cars if I'm correct, although I plan to eventually cover most if not all cars in the game. I used a multitude of methods to bring these sounds ingame, first sourcing the raw sound of real cars uploaded to YouTube or Freesound.org, or even sounds I recorded myself, before using Adobe Audition to crop the sound files to 1-3 second clips up and down the rev range (pitch shifting so RPM remains consistent from the start to the end of the clip) and then using pitch by ear with an Automation engine to write the RPM for each file into the .blends text document. Some engine sounds however use a different method of editing called "granular synthesis" which is the method used by the Forza Horizon devs in FH5. This method requires you to crop the raw sound file to a single cycle of the engine at varying RPMs like before. This can allow for faster revving engines to be implemented since the RPM doesn't need to be consistent in the original recording. TLDR: i make car go vroom. Feedback is appreciated, just beware that if you want to give criticism, keep it constructive. If you have a sound you want me to add then suggest it below. Also please report as many bugs as possible since I might not always be able to test everything to the extent that a larger group of people could. Version 11.10.23 Changelog: Added support for Cherrier Vivace I3 engines Reworked V6 sounds on all Bruckell/Soliad Vehicles Reworked V6 sounds on the MK2 Pessima Reworked I6 sounds on all ETK vehicles Updated distance based filter logic (to the vanilla standard, thanks to a new line added by the devs in 0.30) Adjusted EQ levels on several vehicles Removed I6 sounds on Gavril and Ibishu vehicles as they sucked lol (to be replaced in a later version) REMOVE OLD VERSION BEFORE INSTALLING CURRENT VERSION. These videos showcase some quick stats about the mod, aswell as a handful of the sounds themselves (both recorded in older mod versions, the above video shows the changes made in the latest update.) Known Issues: Sounds can bug out when resetting LUA (CTRL + L) DO NOT TRY THIS AS IT CAUSES THE MOD TO BE UNSTABLE. INSTALLATION: Drag the .zip file into your mods folder (easy method) or extract the "art" and "vehicles" folders into your "BeamNG.Drive/0.30" folder. Enjoy!
Thanks! Which vehicle are you experiencing the lower rpms not sounding as good? just so I can work on it
Well, I got the exhaust sounds from Street Legal Racing Redline (SLRR) and the rest were either ones I recorded myself or from a brilliant website called freesound.org
they sound kinda muddy and vague under around 4000 on both pessimas at least, maybe trying some different samples for that range would fix it high rpms sound almost perfect though!
Yeah, I've noticed this as well. Not quite sure what's causing this. I could try using a different EQ filter on the lower rpm sound files and see if that fixes it
i can provide some engine samples i don't know how to get it work as a mod but ik the diffrent rpm audio samples
Ok, so now for the first update of this mod which adds full support for the Miramar and 200BX. REMOVE OLD VERSION BEFORE INSTALLING THIS ONE Enjoy!
Now I'm working on adding V6 sounds to the modern Pessima and am completely re-thinking the Sunburst sounds.
I actually agree lol. I'm planning on updating the 200BX sounds to give a more realistic sound. But for now, enjoy the 1 pepper! --- Post updated --- Yes they will. A big update is coming, if I can juggle this plus life a bit more efficiently!
Just a quick note - sound of the Pessima could use some improvement. Sounds more like the Vivace i3 than a typical 4-banger at low RPM, and sounds like a higher -revving engine than it actually is, almost like a Honda D-series VTEC.
