Decided to restart the interior... I'm doing things more based on the C3 this time to see if I can't get a better, more period looking result. Again nothing's final, so I may change my mind again.

I still have 2 interior variants on top of this to model too, so there's still plenty of room for pushing things further along towards being lore-friendly as well.

Alright, ended up restarting the dashboard yet again... At-least this time I think I got something I can work with Decided to go with an inset gauge area instead of the round gauges. Should allow me to skip having to redo the dashboard for the 1973-1977 model years (Though there will be other interior changes for that, don't worry .)


Biggest addition I've made to the C3 dash is a glovebox... Idk why the early C3s didn't have one The later ones do, obviously there's enough room there... Guess some random executive thought it was too expensive... Idk, I'll never understand how GM takes the amazing work of their designers and engineers, then proceeds to screw them up in ways you never thought were possible :/ Cancelling cars that should've been made, and producing cars that should've never seen the light of day... GM desperately needs an exorcism.


At-least I'll have a chance to showcase how horrible things could've been for the C3 Corvette on the 1973-1977 Regulation Nation Vendettas... That should be fun .

Looks cool, but imo gauges are too far in the dasboard, and this cap above them is too long. Idk if those things are bad, but they are quite strange. Also I hoped for round gauges, but it's your mod, so you decide.
Anyways it looks really cool, I have strong American vibes just looking at it, really epic work.
Are you going to reuse and improve old JBEAM or you'll start from scratch?
I waited for so long for this fantastic mod to be remade, really happy that you are back to this!

 

Thanks Yeah I'm happy to be back at it too tbh... While working on the Cosmo brought me through some really rough patches the last couple years, the Vendetta is really what got me this deep into modding in the first place.



Here's some more shots of the dash with the gauge inset adjusted, and some minor tweaks done to the overall dashboard;



They may be a tad bit too far in still, though this is the general idea of how I want to go with things. As you can also see, they will be clearly visible from a drivers perspective.

I still need to cut the actual gauges in, though roughly everything's where it should be. Also vents and some other stuff's missing, forgot to cut them in initially. Also I adjusted the top of the dashboard, if that's the "cap" you were referencing... It was a tad bit too long tbh.




Also, regarding the JBeam... nothing on the new model will line up with the old structures... The new body is slightly larger than the old one, plus there have been some major changes done that will pretty much involve the entire reconstruction of the body JBeam anyway.
So to answer your question, I'm starting from scratch with the JBeam this time around.

If anything I could possibly reuse the frame and suspension, though if I'm gonna be redoing as much as I am currently, I might as well just redo it all properly. Again, as I've said; It's going to be a complete remake

 

Second generation Fiero. Consumed significant development resources and could have made people wonder why the SW20 MR2 even needed to exist. Instead it got canceled.

This is what I had in mind for the exterior of the 1978-1985 Vendetta... Front end essentially a modified 1980 C3 with some touches from my previous concept I teased back on page 46, the rear being a rendition of the C4. Might be changing it quite a bit, might not... We'll see how I feel about it later.

 

Welp my vote is to keep it c3 looking rear but I understand the decision for it being you want it to be corvette but not.

 

Rear end needs some more work, but it looks kinda cool. what about rear bumper from late C3 and more square taillights, like on real C4.
Also, a question. Will it have any widebody kits? Like not only SCCA and other racing ones, but non-racing too, like Can-Am style one, ACI Fiberglass Wide Body GT, Greenwood, L88 style and maybe just some rolled and black bolt-on ones

 

I agree, the rear end is too narrow for the C4-like one to look right. Maybe try adding a plastic diffuser/body kit to the rear to make it a bit bulkier for the 80s one?

Sorry for the lack of activity... Been in the process of moving again for the past several months, and these past 2 weeks I've been stuck without internet or a monitor :/

First hotel there were 3 separate connections for the hotel Wifi, and every other hotel I stayed at its either been out, or it would kick me off every 5 minutes... On top of that I managed to break my monitor in transit, and the hotel TV where I'm staying is having issues with devices being connected to it.


Now that I've got decent internet, and a new monitor, I'm gonna be getting back to work shortly

 

Love that front end, also the rear looks good as well but a bit disproportionate, it looks quite tiny

 

I would like to second the square taillight idea for the late facelift, not identical to the c3 obv but that seems to be what youre going for

Still WIP, need to polish things up and add some missing details.


Idk how well squared off taillights work for a late 70s facelift, though I kept a copy of the raw bumper cover to try out some other designs. I eliminated the integrated spoiler to try and create the illusion of a wider rear end, though without redoing the entire rear of the car I can't get it any wider. Body kits are one thing, redoing half of the car for one facelift? I'd rather put that energy into a next generation Vendetta.

Did more work on the Regulation Nation Vendetta too;

Still WIP, ofcourse. Nothing's final, though I do want to do the large crash bumpers similar to what the Camaro got.
It's also showing to be quite a challenge to get everything to fit.... Still need to find space for the turn signals, this could get ugly

it wouldn't make a ton of sense for a late 70s car but you could always have some chrome trim around it to make it look slightly period correct
