Looking to upgrade my PC performance wise for BeamNG Drive and other games that I play so was hoping for some suggestions to point me in the right direction since I'm not extremely CPU savvy. Currently I can have about 8 AI cars racing around Hirochi Raceway at a manageable 40-60 FPS with medium graphic settings and I'm looking to at least double the amount of AI cars I can have running at the same time. I read up somewhere that the more cores a CPU processor has, the more powerful the performance will be so any recommendations for a better CPU or graphics card would be greatly appreciated! I don't think the I9-7900X is compatible with the motherboard I got. According to PC Parts Picker, most of the processors that are compatible only go up to 4 core. https://pcpartpicker.com/products/cpu/?compatible_with=2Phj4D#sort=-cores&page=1
Well, if you want better performance you'll need more cores. If you can, I would suggest building a new computer with a AMD processor instead.
You could always buy the components when you can afford them, and then sell your old PC when you have the new one.
